Emperor Divers has added to its Maldives liveaboard diving fleet with the launch of Emperor Explorer II, a brand-new flagship vessel designed for divers exploring the Indian Ocean in 2026 and beyond.
At 44 metres long, Explorer II has been designed with a focus on space, comfort and functionality. Spread across four decks, the layout creates a sense of openness, with large windows throughout bringing in natural light and offering uninterrupted sea views.
Explorer II will begin taking guests on amazing scuba diving holidays in August 2026, with her predecessor, Emperor Explorer, continuing to run trips until the end of May.
Everything onboard the new vessel has been finished to a high standard, from fixtures and fittings through to the overall guest experience, backed by Emperor’s reputation for excellent customer service.
Accommodation includes a mix of upper and main deck suites, along with lower deck cabins, all fully air-conditioned and with en-suite facilities. The range of options makes it well suited to couples, friends and solo travellers alike.

Guests can make use of the air-conditioned lounge, unwind in shaded outdoor seating areas, or head to the sun deck to stretch out on loungers and beanbags between dives – also the perfect spot to take in the famous Maldivian sunsets.
When it comes to diving, operations are run from a fully equipped 24-metre dhoni and supported by up to four experienced dive guides, helping ensure each day runs smoothly from start to finish.
She will primarily take guests on our Best of Maldives trip – which explores the best and most famous dive sites of the Maldives in a week of wonderful liveaboard diving across Male, Ari and Vaavu atolls – but will also cover Southern Shark Adventure and Deep South itineraries.
