The Diving Experience
Regarding the dives themselves, I have nothing but positive things to say. We had six dives at different sites and one lunch which was truly delicious. The crew was very kind and did everything possible to make the experience perfect. I really can’t complain about that side of things and would definitely book with them again.
Handling of the Incident
Before pointing out what went wrong, I would like to highlight that, in response to a verification issue, the management has implemented measures to prevent future occurrences and ensured the team is now trained in verifying dives. Since I was told that digital verification is rarely requested, it seems plausible that the crew was simply unfamiliar with the process. I appreciate that they are using this situation as a learning opportunity, which I consider a very proactive and positive approach.
Why I can’t give 5 stars
The reason for the deduction is the dive logging process. (Note: If you use a physical logbook, you can stop reading here).
It took about six weeks and a lot of communication—including contacting PADI and the regional headquarters—to finally get my dives verified. For the future, I would expect instructors to know how to provide the verification QR code on-site so that immediate digital verification is possible. It would have saved everyone a lot of work.

Day Diving
Emperor offers day diving in the Solomon Islands, Indonesia and Egypt. On the Red Sea we have three centres with a variety of different ‘feels’ – from the vibrant Sharm el Sheikh to relaxed Wadi Sabarah. In the Solomons, Emperor Divers Honiara provides unrivalled access to incredible World War II history and stunning marine life while Emperor Lembongan in Indonesia is perfectly situated to explore the world-famous Coral Triangle.
