Travelling to Egypt from the United States is set to become easier this summer, with EgyptAir confirming new non-stop routes from both Chicago and Los Angeles to Cairo.
The airline will begin direct flights between Cairo and Los Angeles this weekend (23 May 2026), followed by the launch of its first-ever non-stop Chicago service on 21 June. Both routes will operate three times per week using EgyptAir’s new Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
For divers planning Red Sea holidays, the additional flights provide more direct access to Egypt and greater connection options from across North America. Cairo remains one of the main gateways for onward travel to destinations including Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Sharm El Sheikh.
Los Angeles becomes EgyptAir’s longest route and reconnects the airline with the US west coast, while Chicago offers strong onward connections through central United States.
The new services also expand EgyptAir’s growing North American network, which already includes direct flights from New York, Newark, Toronto and Washington DC.
