There are so many fantastic reasons to come and dive with us at Wadi Sabarah but how about we add another? Okay then, Sonia’s coming back!
This summer we are delighted to be welcoming the Red Sea diving legend that is Sonia Goggel back to her new spiritual home in our newest dive centre.
She has long been a star of Emperor Divers’ liveaboards and everyone that has spent time with her, in or out of the water, will know exactly what a special person she is to be around.
When we were establishing our beautiful new base at Wadi Sabarah, Sonia was fundamental in setting up the diving side of things.
She helped choose the sites we go to, devise the different dives we take our guests on and has worked on an extensive number of fascinating ecological talks that explain so much about the underwater world to which she has, or will, take you.
But it’s not just because of her experience and knowledge of all things Red Sea – and, of course, the Emperor way of diving – that makes having Sonia back at Wadi Sabarah so great.
It’s the amazing lady herself – as this little tale of hers illustrates.
“When I was about 15, my Dad asked me ‘what is my life plan?’.
“I said I just want to be happy and he said – that is not a life plan! I said, well, it is a life plan for me!
“So, whenever we talked he was always ironically asking me, how is my happiness plan going?
“I was just saying, it’s going great – I love it – I love being a dive guide from day one, so it was going absolutely fantastic.
“And then he came with my uncle, my brother, my sister. A family holiday.
“They saw me working for a week …. and he never asked how my happiness plan was going ever – like ever!
“He obviously saw it works for me!”
A wonderful plan to have for life!
