Preserving and conserving life in our oceans is something everyone at Emperor Divers feels passionate about.
Let’s face it, you don’t decide to work in the diving industry without having fallen in love with the world beneath the waves!
That is why we are very pleased to give our support to the fantastic work carried out by the PADI AWARE Foundation – a global non-profit organisation dedicated to ocean conservation.
Established in 1989 as Project AWARE by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), it became a registered non-profit in 1992. In 2021, it evolved into the PADI AWARE Foundation, aligning more closely with PADI to tackle critical marine issues.
Their mission is to drive local action for global ocean conservation. It focuses on key areas such as marine debris removal, protection of vulnerable species, coral reef restoration, an increase in the number of marine protected areas and working towards reduction and off-setting of the global carbon footprint.
They aim to do this through initiatives like Dive Against Debris, Adopt the Blue and their Community Grant Program.
But all this takes money.
That is why they have set up their Race to 100 campaign which looks to raise $100,000 in just 100 days.
And the best part of this campaign (well, aside from helping to protect our oceans for the generations come, of course)? Everyone who donates to this campaign will be entered into a draw with the selected winner receiving a free Red Sea liveaboard trip with Emperor Divers.
It’s a cause we are delighted to back and we would encourage anyone to donate – no matter how small an amount you can give – to enable their excellent work to continue.
The Community Grant Program can make a massive difference on a local level and you can even select the part of the world you would like your money to go to when you donate.
If you can, please support the PADI AWARE Foundation and, who knows, you might just be joining us on board for free as a result.
