Flying to Egypt’s Red Sea Is Easier Than Ever

If you’re planning a diving holiday – or just getting a winter sun escape – to Egypt’s Red Sea, now is the perfect time to book.

A surge in direct flights from Europe to Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada, and Marsa Alam means getting to these world-class diving destinations is becoming increasingly convenient.

AJet, formerly AnadoluJet and now the budget arm of Turkish Airlines, continues to offer excellent value for travellers flying from Europe to Egypt. The airline operates direct flights to Hurghada from major cities including Istanbul, Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Zurich, London, and Milan, with fares from Istanbul becoming ever cheaper.

AJet also runs flights to Sharm el Sheikh from cities like Ankara, Izmir, Moscow, Rome, Milan, and Budapest.

Several other European airlines are expanding their operations to Egypt’s Red Sea coast for the 2025-2026 season.

Transavia (Netherlands) is launching direct flights from Amsterdam to Marsa Alam and Cairo, starting late October and November respectively. These routes add to their existing services to Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh. Meanwhile, TUI UK is bringing back direct flights from East Midlands Airport to Sharm el Sheikh for Summer 2026, operating twice weekly.

Corendon Airlines will start twice-weekly flights to Sharm el Sheikh from Düsseldorf, Hanover, and Nuremberg, while increasing frequency to Hurghada with daily departures from Düsseldorf.

TUI Belgium has upgraded its Ostend to Hurghada route to year-round service, while Transavia France is extending its seasonal Nantes to Hurghada flight into the summer schedule.

Additional flight options are appearing across Europe. Condor will run daily flights from Berlin to Hurghada for winter 2025-26; Wizz Air is converting its Naples to Sharm el Sheikh service into a year-round route; and airBaltic will increase service from Riga to both Hurghada and Sharm to three times weekly.

Travellers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will benefit from increased flight frequencies from carriers like Eurowings, Air Cairo, and Marabu.

With so many airlines now offering direct flights to Egypt from European cities, booking your trip to the Red Sea is simpler than ever and the increased air connectivity gives you greater flexibility, more departure options, and competitive prices – making it easier still to join Emperor for both liveaboard and day diving.
