It has been a simply stunning time to dive the Red Sea recently.
Even by the area’s normally high standards, Emperor Divers guests and staff have been blessed with some quite amazing sightings over the last few weeks.
Our Simply The Best itinerary never fails to deliver. But with manta, hammerheads, oceanics, barracuda, tuna and even the rarely-seen mola mola coming out to play this summer it is proving an exceptional period to enjoy these glorious waters.
In the north, we already have jacks, snapper and batfish schooling at Ras Mohamed, alongside a juvenile zebra shark which is being spotted regularly. We also have a resident school of 10-plus hammerheads on the back of Jackson Reef, Tiran that are being seen multiple times per week. That means daily divers to our new centre in Sharm el Sheikh and liveaboard divers doing the northern routes are being treated to some fantastic things under the waves.
And with such delights being seen on a near-daily basis in Egyptian seas at the moment, it makes it even more special to have achieved a Green Fins accreditation for all the work we have put in to protect the environment in Sharm-el-Sheik.
Green Fins is a conservation approach implemented internationally by The Reef-World Foundation and the UN Environment Programme. It leads to a measurable reduction in the negative environmental impacts of tourism and aims to protect coral reefs by promoting sustainable, environmentally-friendly diving and snorkelling.
With Emperor also being a long-standing member of HEPCA (Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association) – now the most active non-governmental organisation in Egypt working to conserve the environment in the whole of the Red Sea – and accredited by the Chamber of Diving and Watersports (CDWS), this latest acknowledgement further highlights our commitment ensuring the nature we love continues to flourish.
And the sights offered up to our guests recently are a reminder – should we ever need it – of how important that work is.
