Emperor Divers El Gouna - The Team

Tobias Stoetzel

Operations Supervisor, El Gouna
Tobias Stoetzel

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Tobi and my wife, Sabrina, and I came to Hurghada from Germany in 2009.

Since I am originally an IT-guy, most of my hobbies take place in dry areas; I love reading, playing games and cooking for friends and have two Egyptian street cats and two cute Maltese dogs.

Although it took me a while to take to the wonders of the underwater world, I finally found my love of diving in 2011 whilst doing my PADI Open Water Diver course. My career in the diving industry began shortly after in 2013 as Sales and Marketing Manager for a Swiss based diving company. During that time I advanced to CMAS ***/Dive Leader Level. In total I have about 700 dives under my belt now, about 50% of those working as a dive guide at the dive spots around Hurghada.

My best dive ever, and one of my first dives as a freshly certified Dive Leader, was when Sabrina and I were diving between The Giftun Islands and Abu Ramada Island - memorable in many ways and not least for the amazing marine life and colours that always manage to impress me.

As Operation Supervisor in El Gouna, I feel lucky to be part of the Emperor family and to be able to make my passion my profession!

Being the only 'original' Hurghadian in the team, I started working with Blue Brothers Diving and later Emperor Divers & Blue Brothers Diving in El Gouna in 2002.

I worked my way up from being compressor and equipment helper to become a Divemaster and guide, and advanced to PADI instructor in 2015. Recently I applied for PADI MSDT. Having collected more than 2000 dives in the Red Sea during that time I am proud to know the reefs and marine life here like the back of my hand.

My interest in the underwater world is not limited to diving as I am also a big fan of freediving; my motto for diving is 'live your dive' - and I work to make every second of it enjoyable for my guests. I love stonefish and nudibranch as you will see on my buddy stickers 'Not yet another nudibranch'.

When I am not exploring the wonders of the underwater world I love to spend time with my family and enjoy sports such as karate.

Monika Kiml - aka Moni

Monika Kiml

I was born and grew up in Switzerland in the area of Zurich and moved to sunny Egypt in 2014 and - literally - "into" the Red Sea.

In 2001 I discovered diving and built my career until I became an Instructor in 2005, now with several specialties including handicap diving. I gladly and enthusiastically share the knowledge and my beautiful experiences in the Red Sea with my students and guests, earned over the years.

Since the beginning of 2015 I have worked with Emperor Divers & Blue Brothers Diving in El Gouna, being the only female instructor at the moment.

When back on holiday to Switzerland I love to follow my other sporting passions; snowboarding and hiking. I also enjoy spending cheerful evenings with my friends, having a good Swiss fondue. My motto is 'Dive your dream'.

I started working for Emperor Divers in 2007 as a helper in the equipment room. In 2009 I did my Open Water Course with Emperor and after that I have never been able to keep my head out of the water!

My career within Emperor started in Sharm El Sheikh, then in our diving centre in Port Ghalib before joining the El Gouna team - so basically all of the Red Sea is my home now.

Consequently I taught myself English, since I definitely wanted to continue in this beautiful line of work and completed my Divemaster in 2011. But no stopping there! I followed with my IDC course in 2012, completing my SSI crossover soon after. Today I am an instructor for open water divers to Divemasters and can teach several specialty courses at Emperor Divers & Blue Brothers Diving, El Gouna.

I love diving and love to teach people to dive, to share my passion for the Red Sea and the underwater world as it always feels like adding something important to people's lives. Always eager to improve, to learn and explore more about life underwater and to share such a passion with our guests. Let's face, it, there is no life without water!

Noumiry 'Tiger'

Noumiry Tiger

Dear divers, not-yet divers and soon-to-be divers, my given name is Noumiry, but you can call me 'Tiger'.

Originally from the Nubian deep south of Egypt, I started in the Red Sea governorate in 1987 working as a waiter at the beautiful beach and diving site of Sharm El Naga.

Fascinated by seeing European tourists and fellow Egyptians enjoying discovering the underwater life, I started my career in diving in 1989 with a first try dive, then did my Open Water Course (CMAS 1-star) in 1990 and gradually advanced to become a CMAS 3-star diver (Dive Leader) and immediately started working as a dive guide, continuing my career in 2000 with the PADI IDC, adding several specialties such as Nitrox and Photography in the year to follow.

In 2012 I started working for Emperor Divers & Blue Brothers Diving in El Gouna as a PADI Open Water and Specialty Instructor. Whilst that's rather recent, you can easily consider me the 'oldest fish in the basin'.

I love to spend spare time with my wife and four children, who are the joy of my life.

No matter how many years I have worked as a professional diver I still deeply love my work and wish to continue forever to bring joy and fascination into the world of my guests and students. Just relax, I will teach you how to dive with a smile on your face.

In September 2015 I left Germany and went travelling. Having owned a solarium in Germany for eight years, I decided it was time to start a new direction in life so I journeyed around the world enjoying a whole new vista on life and seeing the sunny sides of the Earth.

In 2012 I did my Open Water Course in Germany and flew to discover the Maldives directly after it. Wow! It was simply amazing to see the marine life of the Indian Ocean. In 2013 I continued with the Advanced Open Water and later the Rescue Course.

In May 2015 I came on holiday to El Gouna and it immediately felt like coming home to me. Here was the place I was looking for, so I decided to start my plans for a new life in the sun.

September 2015 changed my life as I then started working with Emperor Divers & Blue Brothers Diving in El Gouna. My dream of working in diving finally became true!

Currently I'm a part of the office team at Emperor Divers El Gouna and here to happily help if you have any questions about your bookings, diving activities and dive sites. I am also training further to become a Divemaster until the end of the year. I look forward to hopefully diving with you one day soon.
