For many Red Sea divers, Sonia Goggel needs little introduction.
After decades exploring Egypt’s reefs, wrecks and marine life, she has become one of the most respected and recognisable names in Red Sea diving. Known for her incredible marine life knowledge, infectious enthusiasm and ability to make every dive more rewarding, Sonia has long been a favourite with Emperor Divers guests.
In 2027, she’s back with an extended programme that gives divers more opportunities than ever to spend time both above and below the water with her.

The Emperor Legends Return
Following the huge success of the inaugural Emperor Legends trip, the concept returns for 2027 with two special liveaboards aboard Emperor Elite.
Sonia will once again be joined by fellow Emperor legends Tracy Atkinson and Saad Badawy, bringing together three of the most experienced and respected Red Sea dive guides on one boat.
Each itinerary has been built around the sites they know and love best.
The North Legends itinerary explores favourites including Ras Mohamed, the Brothers, SS Thistlegorm, Panorama Reef and the Straits of Tiran.
The South Legends journey heads through the Brothers, Daedalus, Fury Shoals, Abu Dabab, Elphinstone and Ras Shouna, combining spectacular reefs with some of the southern Red Sea’s finest diving.
More than simply guiding dives, Sonia, Tracy and Saad share decades of stories, local knowledge and marine life expertise that transform every day on board into something genuinely memorable.
