Amanda Cullen joined Emperor Raja Laut for our Raja Ampat, 14-21 March 2018, trip and this is what she said...

"I had an amazing week on the boat. Being a girl traveling on my own I could not have felt more comfortable. Everyone working on the boat was absolutely amazing and could not do enough for us. They really went above and beyond.

The boat was immaculate and the food was delicious. Being a vegetarian the chef made sure to make me such delicious alternatives to meat. The rooms were cleaned every morning.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience and everyone working on the boat really contributed to that!

Really looking forward to doing my next liveaboard. Also divebooker were brilliant to book from. They were very prompt and helpful."

Emperor Maldives helps identify whale shark!

0318 whale shark video.jpg

Recently we told you about the sighting from Emperor Orion in Huvadhoo Atoll of a ‘new’ whale shark and have been working with the Maldives Whale Shark Project team to get the identity of her and to give her a name.

Result! She is now called Dhahi, meaning ‘glutton’. This is the fourth time she has been sighted; the first in 2015 then 2016, 2017 and from Emperor Orion this year. The interesting thing is that every time, she has been sighted in the same spot at Huvadhoo Atoll in February or March.

Emperor boats, especially Emperor Orion and Emperor Serenity, help Maldives Whale Shark Project a lot with their research to help identify them. Some whale sharks have been sighted more than 100 times.

Thanks to Emperor dive guide, Gabriel, for the fabulous video.

Don't just take our word about the delights of Emperor Echo.

Over to Julie Despaties and her 5 Star Service Feefo feedback

“Epic first liveaboard experience. This was our first time ever doing a liveaboard! We are over the moon with the experience, the crew was terrific, really we couldn’t have had better service...the food was great!

And our instructor, Hany, truly helped us become better divers throughout our Advance open water certification! We had amazing dives (and lots of work!) but we are so very grateful.

And the boat was wonderful! The company was also amazing; we connected with so many fabulous divers...it was truly epic! We had no expectation coming in but Emperor Echo has now set the bar very high for our next liveaboard! Thank you."

Emperor Sharm El Sheikh - OPEN for business

We have great news!
Our dive centre has reopened in the iconic Red Sea dive
capital of Sharm El Sheikh.

Located directly in Naama Bay, we’re close to the jetty and ready to take you to dive incredible sites such as Tiran and Ras Mohamed.

“Sharm diving is at its absolute best for decades as dive sites have had a few years to recover from the crowds. Stunning hard and soft corals and amazing marine life encounters abound in some of the clearest waters the Red Sea has to offer,” says General Manager, Luke Atkinson. “The fish schooling event of Ras Mohamed in summer is truly world class and the chance to experience it with diver numbers similar to the 1990s should not be missed.”

As we are sharing with the Werner Lau/Sinai Divers centre in Helnan Marina Hotel, our guests will have access to a great house reef in Naama Bay and top class facilities as well as being close to a range of hotels for convenience. Divers’ favourite boats, Emperor Shorouk and Emperor Marcus, will be running regularly to the amazing local sites and, of course, to Ras Mohamed and Tiran. Our small instructor team will be headed up by the familiar face of Elise, an Emperor Sharm legend.

Direct flights to Sharm come from Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria with carriers such as TUIfly, FTI and Germania. Indirect flights via Istanbul with Pegasus and Turkish airlines are excellent for divers due to a generous baggage allowance, which is also the case with Egyptair via Cairo.

Make 2018 the year for you to come and dive in Sharm with Emperor; trust us, it will be the best decision you make!

Here's the chance for some pelagic action, hopefully hammerheads too, before diving probably one of the best dive locations in the world, South Raja Ampat.

Located in the beautiful Abu Tig Marina and next to the 4* adults-only Ocean View Hotel, our popular dive centre is operated as a joint venture with partners, Blue Brothers Diving.

Amidst the yachts of the marina our boat moors up each day just 50m from our centre and the hotel.

Most of our diving takes place on our day boat, Pegasus, where we offer 2-3 dives a day with third dives on request. Our Instructor-team (Moni, Mahmoud, Tiger and Elliot) are happy to show you around and on board we take care of all your diving needs. All speak English, German, and some other languages. If you so prefer, Tiger will even chat with you in Nubian!

Requests or questions? Daniela (administration) and Tobi (operations manager) are always happy to help and advise.

On board Pegasus, our eager-to-help boat crew, under Captain Waleed, takes the best care of you. Enjoy the varied, tasty lunch on board and each morning you will receive a fresh bottle of water with unlimited refills from a cooling tank; primarily to encourage drinking enough while diving but also to reduce plastic waste. This new systems saves about 20,000 plastic bottles a year!

Around El Gouna you find more than 50 beautiful diving spots ranging from aquarium-style sandy shallows to steep, richly overgrown drop offs. Rich in coral and marine life, especially the northern spots which are unavailable from busy Hurghada, these are in fabulous shape.

Our weekly schedule rotates taking into account weather conditions but some spots are cherished more than others such as the Siyul reef, a richly overgrown frame reef to the north; El Gilwa with its shallow bays and pinnacles, or Poseidon Garden, a huge stone-coral garden close to the reef Shab El Erg with its famous dolphin groups. Without exaggeration we easily have 2-3 chance dolphin encounters every week.

Apart from the beautiful reefs and coral gardens quite a number of famous wrecks are close by; Abu Nuhas even has four wrecks, mere metres from each other: Carnatic, Crisoula K, Giannis D and Kimon M.  This is diving for divers! Do 3 out of 4 in just a day; perfect to get your wreck specialty as well.

If you like it deep and dark, Rosalie Moller is your wreck of choice and even her famous sister-ship SS Thistlegorm is available for ‘early birds’. (Please remember that all special trips are weather dependent and charged extra on your diving days).

On top of all that, we also offer half-day snorkelling, diving and dolphin spotting trips from our comfortable speedboat. You name it, we might have it; just ask!

Finally, if you stay in El Gouna then we offer free transfers from and to your hotel included in your booking. For those staying in Hurghada, we have some great value private transfer options to get you from hotel to dive centre and back without delay.

Happy El Gouna diving!

Beth D wrote this glowing review via Feefo...

5 Star Service on Emperor Superior, Red Sea

"I spent a week on liveaboard Emperor Superior out of Hurghada on the Red Sea, and had the best vacation ever! Both the crew and my fellow divers were excellent. I hadn’t been diving in over 20 years, with the exception of a recent refresher course in a 10 foot pool. However, the dive guides, Omar and Terak were both extremely helpful and patient with me and after the first day I was diving just fine.

Guests can either dive with the guides or on their own. Of our group, most dove on their own, but I always went with the guides. There’s a briefing before each dive where they go over that dive’s plan. There’s typically 4 dives per day. I have multiple food allergies and another dive boat company was unable to accommodate my dietary needs but the cooks on Emperor did a great job cooking for me; the food was great and the only problem was that they cooked far too much for me - I was afraid that soon I wouldn’t have needed my weight belt any more! They also provided free wine with dinner.

The boat was a good size, very comfortable with really nice decks; it was perfect for lounging around and getting to know my new-found friends from all over the world.

Emperor Superior was a great value for money, the crew was very personable, knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend this liveaboard experience!"

and come and enjoy a 'Beth' experience.

Emperor Asmaa

Great review for this ever-so-popular Red Sea liveaboard

J. Otis, Boston, UK: 'Second to None!'

"I normally do 2-3 Red Sea trips a year! This was my first Liveaboard with Emperor Divers on Emperor Asmaa 1-8 Feb. What a value!

All I can say is that Captain Hamada and Dive Guide Mustafa were extremely professional and efficient in making the dive experience the best it could it be. The rest of the Crew was all absolutely excellent and very friendly, attentive and always helpful. The food was second to none and best yet. 3 chefs and dining room & cabin attendant are ex-cruise ship caterers.

We were all amazed every day. Not to mention with free red wine with dinner. Wow, that was a first! Free Nitrox was normally 32% 200=220 bar. Normally not case elsewhere on other LBs, (28-30%). I would not hesitate in recommending this boat to any diver looking for Red Sea Liveaboard. Well done and Thank you Emperor!"
