Red Sea Dive Resorts - Sharm El Sheikh

Duncan McAllister

Sharm El Sheikh Dive Centre Manager

Duncan McAllister - Sharm El Sheikh Dive Centre Manager I learned to dive with the Forces (Army) in 1983 and became a SADS (Sub-Aqua Diving Supervisor) with the military in 1985. During my time in the Forces, I was the Diving Officer for several military units and to complement my military experience, became a BSAC Club Instructor in 1986.

I left the Forces in 1992, and then went to India for a year and was based in Calcutta running a British owned company for the Chairman of Sheffield United. When I returned to the UK in 1994, I went into the property business in London and became the Operations Director for Jackson-Stops & Staff a nationally known estate agents.

In 2004, the call to return to diving became too strong and I decided move to Sharm having purchased property here. I crossed over to PADI and am now a Staff Instructor with 15 Specialities. I have worked in Sharm for three years with Red Sea Diving College as an instructor and, therefore, know the area and dive sites well. Outside of diving, I watch rugby! My partner, Jennie, and I have been together for 11 years and she is also a dive instructor here in Sharm. We have a black cat called ‘Black Cat', (novel!) who has been with me for 10 years and who came with us from the UK.

I'm fortunate in having a great team in Sharm as all the staff are passionate about diving, which really shows in their enthusiasm towards every dive they make and every welcome they give to each guest.

StarSharmTrek - the final frontier. Captain Duncan-Kirk-McAllister reports regularly from the outer zones of Planet Sharm as his intrepid team boldly go where no diver has gone before...well almost.
