Diving in the Red Sea with Emperor

Red Sea Dive Resorts - Safaga

Introduction

If you are looking for Red Sea diving 'the way it used to be' then look no further than the new Emperor Divers Club in Safaga. 60kms south of Hurghada, Safaga is still part of the 'real Egypt'. As a bustling port town it will give you a glimpse of the way of life of the local people. The atmosphere here is traditional with a relaxed, paced rural life and none of the hassle of the big city. Wind down and enjoy the peace and ambience.

Safaga also offers fantastic diving opportunities for divers of all levels with uncrowded dive sites and whole stretches of reef still to be discovered. The house reef at Emperor Divers Safaga is a classic plateau reef, which starts just a few metres from the sandy beach. It is not deep but is teeming with a huge variety of marine life difficult to find elsewhere and is a photographer's dream. There is also a large area of sea grass, which is home to a myriad strange invertebrates and juvenile fish.

Diving in Safaga

Diving at Emperor Safaga features shore diving (unlimited, unguided from 8am until 5pm on the house reef), small boat diving for half day trips to nearby wrecks and reefs and big boat diving running on certain days of the week to the outer reefs of the Safaga area.

Day trips: Dive sites

  • Panorama, Abu Kafan, Hal Hal
  • Wreck of the Salem Express
  • Sha'ab Saiman
  • Tobia Arba'a (Seven Pinnacles)
  • Other wrecks: 3 wrecks (large commercial vessels) lie within small boat ride from the beach - come and help us discover their history and mystery!

New to diving?

Instructor and Students The conditions on the house reef are ideal for beginners. No strong currents or drop-offs to worry about, just lots of great coral and fish. You can choose either BSAC or PADI courses where all training takes place straight off the beach, so you can enjoy the marine life from the first breath. A half day's professional training is yours from just 50 Euros. A fabulous investment and a great feeling of achievement. And when you're hooked, it runs seamlessly into your BSAC or PADI Scuba Diver Course or BSAC or PADI Open Water Diver Course.
