My wife and I want to go on a live-aboard trip in the end of March /beginning of April 2009.

1. How is the weather, is it a lot of wind and big waves, or is it getting calmer at that time?

We were thinking of going on either the "Simply the best " or the "South and St Johns" trip.

2. What is the the best of the two trips, if we want to see big stuff, like sharks?
(when is the best time of the year to go if we want to see sharks?)

3. How many dives will we be able to do each day on your live-aboards?

Dear Morten,

Thanks for your forum post and great to hear you are thinking about joining a liveaboard with Emperor Fleet.

April and May are lovely months to dive as the water temperature is starting to rise after the winter months. I would reccomend late April or May as then the plankton bloom is finishing so visability is 25 metres plus. The sea is also a lot calmer as January and February tend to be the windy months and therfore the sea can be rougher.

Both of these trips are great for seeing sharks, you may see grey reef sharks, hammerheads, threshers, white tip and silky sharks on a Simply the Best safari. On a South & St John's trip there is the oppurtunity to see white tips, grey reef sharks, silvertips, oceanics and hammerheads. These are some of the BIG fish our guests saw last year !!!

Our Liveaboards offer 3 to 4 dives per day depending on daylight and personal preference but please note Simply the Best visits the Brothers and night dives are not permitted here as it is Marine Park. They will try to make at least one night dive after leaving the park area.

If you would like further details of any of the dates shown on our website or further information please email: info.safaris@emperordivers.com and I will be happy to help.

Best Regards
Stephanie
