Photo Workshop on Emperor Regency24 November - 1 DecemberReport by Frederique Morisod (Fefe) & Chris Jansen "We spent a week on Emperor Regency and had an amazing trip. This was a special week as we had thirteen guests, some travelling from as far as the USA, to attend the photo workshop with Maria Munn.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the reefs of Fury Shoal were up to standard! We had some amazing dives playing in the maze of El Malahi and diving on the wreck of the sailing boat at Abu Galawa Soraya. But the highlight was Marsa Abu Dabab; the famous bay with sea grass that doesnt only feature giant creatures such as green sea turtles but also has one of the most beautiful coral gardens in the whole southern Egyptian Red Sea.
All the guests went back home with beautiful memories, not only in their head, but with a CD full of fabulous photos! They shot and shot with their compact digital cameras, dive after dive, and the progress from their pictures at the start amazed us. We had a slide show every night and we could see the progress day by day! Who said underwater photography is hard?" "It's been a very special year for me to see how my tips and techniques have helped both Fefe's and the guests' photographs improve beyond belief," said Maria. As Dahab managers, Veronique and Magnus, prepare to travel the world, everyone at Emperor Divers wants to wish them all the very best for their future goals and say a great big thank you for being such magnificent managers and team members!Here's a final word from Veronique: "Before leaving Egypt, we would like to thank our guests and students for their company underwater. Thanks to Emperor Divers we have been able to visit and work in most of their six locations in the Red Sea and gain even more experience. We started in Nuweiba, moved to Sharm El Sheikh, spent a few weeks in Marsa Alam and visited Hurghada and Soma Bay. Last June we started as managers of Emperor Divers Dahab where weve had the opportunity to teach and guide alongside our team of instructors and divemasters and still find time to do all the admin and daily organisation of the dive centre! But, after three years in Egypt, we have decided to go travelling and explore a new part of the world. Magnus is now learning French and we will make our way to French Polynesia! Over there we will do our best to combine Tahitian necklaces, coconut perfume and flowery shorts with technical diving!
