Emperor Divers Marsa Alam - The Team
I am responsible for the dive centre in Marina Lodge, Port Ghalib and our three boats and ground crew team. Customer service is a big part of the Marsa and Emperor philosophy and I am lucky to work with such an inspiring team.
Since 2009 I have worked in Marsa and enjoy the relaxed diving and the varied aquatic life which we have the pleasure of diving with including our beautiful corals and, of course, our resident dugong. If you have been on a boat with me before, or come with me in the future, you will realise that every dive site is simply one of my favourites.
You could say I came to diving late in life, in 2006, with a background in gardening I found the underwater world infectious and couldn't get enough of it. I did the majority of my dive training in the UK and am a firm believer that UK diving is fabulous (just a bit too cold for me now!). On my holidays you will find me diving, nearly always with a camera in my hand to capture those magic moments.
Finally, with Elphinstone just a few hours away by boat, how lucky am I and the team to have one of the most stunning sites on hand with its walls covered in soft corals, gorgonians and every reason to dive there under the sun - and the waves!
Taki is too humble to write something about himself, and if you've met him you'd understand that. Let's just make a few things clear then that are sure to embarrass him: He has experience in the South that is simply unmatched, having been guiding for over 20 years between El Quesir and Marsa Alam. He has the ability to spot critters that puts others in the shade. He is so calm underwater, he regularly returns to the boat with 140 bar in his 12l tank. I am not sure of a language that he doesn't speak at least in part. He is supremely kind and gentle to all guests and colleagues. Finally, he makes briefings that are as good as any stand-up comedy show you'll have been to. In a word - "legend".
I was born in Ismalia in the North of Egypt. In 2009 I learnt to dive and completed up to Rescue Diver there. I then did my Dive Master Course in Sharm El Sheikh.
I have been working with Emperor Divers since 2014 where I started as ground staff and guiding as a Divemaster at Emperor Divers when we were based at the Intercontinental 'aqua centre' in Port Ghalib. Many of you will have met me there, either helping with your tanks, or guiding you on dives. I pursued my career further after we closed that centre, and studied for my PADI instructor course in December 2015 which meant in 2016 I could came back to Port Ghalib to work as an Instructor with Emperor Divers based in the main Marina Lodge centre.
I have always loved the Sea and I also love to meet and dive with new people and old friends alike. I look forward to diving with you all soon.
Hi, my name is Mohamed Ibrahim, but everyone calls me Hamada .I did my first dive in 2001, since then I dreamt of being in the underwater world. So I decided in 2004 to do my DiveMaster course so I could explore the sea as a job, taking it further in 2008 when I did my instructor course.
I started diving in Dahab (South Sinai) and then went to Sharm El Shiek working as a safari guide. I worked also as an Instructor in Thailand, which gave me great experience. I came to Marsa Alam working with Emperor Divers in late 2016. I love the diving here - a good variety with sharks , turtles and of course the sea cow (dugong) :)
I wish to do dive as often as I can, as diving is my passion. There is nothing better than having the sea as your office, wearing shorts and of course the 'Emperor Blue' shirt as your uniform. :)
Having learnt to dive with Emperor Divers Marsa Alam in 2014, I liked it so much that I decided to stay, so left my hometown of Hamburg to live in Egypt not long after completing my Open Water. At first, I worked in the dive centre as counter staff and in 2016 year I completed my SSI Dive Guide and SSI Dive Master Courses, so now you will also see me out on the boats as well as in the office.
