Technical diving experiences at Emperor:

Thank you to Aaron and Michael for the second superb holiday in Sharm El Sheikh.
Your professionalism and knowledge is the best I've seen, and we have dived around the world and never received the service and dedication we experienced with you guys. You are able to cater for the complete novice and the more experienced diver and understand the needs of each and every one of us. The boat is fantastic and the crew are a credit to you.

Jules Baldock, Chingford, London May 2008

I have just returned to Scotland after a week on Infinity with Emperor Divers Tekstreme. I did an entry level Trimix course with instructor, Chris Berry and would like to let you know I was far more than pleased with the level of service offered by Tekstreme. The safety aspect of the training was second to none compared to other training I have in the past experienced and is something which is high on my list of expectations. I would not hesitate to dive with, train with or recommend Chris/Tekstreme to others in the future. It was a brilliant week, the highlight being a 60m dive at the brothers.

What a great time I had at Tekstreme in Sharm doing back-to-back entry level and advanced Trimix courses, plus a couple of rebreather try-dives as well - all in the space of 16 days! Mickael was the lucky bloke chosen to turn me into a proper tech diver, and what a great job he did of it too - despite my all too comical SMB deployments, particularly in a current at the end of a reef at 6m wearing 5 tanks... I'm sure he must wonder sometimes what goes on over the other side of La Manche, and sometimes say Sacre bleu, encore un autre "rosbif"...
Joking apart, Mickael was exceptionally professional the whole time, not only guiding me through both courses and making sure I was capable of doing them, but also including his own additional teaching methods and experiences.
I rarely put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) to sing anyone's praises, but can wholeheartedly recommend Tekstreme to anyone who wants to try more advanced diving - but don't expect to get away with any sloppy or slack practices...I didn't!
Thanks too, to Sarah for my Inspiration intro dive at Shark's Bay and also Aaron for letting me use his Megalodon for a try dive and replying to my incessant emails during 2007 and all the other Emperor Divers staff at Sharm too - thanks for the mask Ari. The true recommendation is of course "Would I go back?" Absolutely. I'm already planning a rebreather course there... Mickael, you have been warned!

Andrew Kelly, UK March 2008

Big thanks for the great time I had last week. And thanks Mickael for you patience (a rare thing for a Frenchman :-)) I must say that I am impressed how professional Tekstreme handles the TEK courses. All the teaching, the manual and extras reading materials, but specially the personal effort from the instructors are of a high standard. Looking at the rebreather lab website, The Pelagian is on my favourite list, I would like to have a go on that one.

We have just completed our Kiss CCR training with Paul Vinten and wanted to drop you a note to give some additional feedback as we enjoyed the course so much.

Paul has been a complete professional throughout our weeks training, he has been incredibly helpful, patient and has at no point let our existing friendship compromise his standards of teaching. He was always willing to spend as much time as necessary on the theory side of the course, and took the time to fully explain the answers to any questions we had. Both Charlie and I found the course challenging, but thanks to Paul we are now happy to jump in on our own, confident that we could cope with any eventuality. We would have no hesitation in recommending the course to others and intend to follow up our training with a Trimix course once we have clocked up enough hours. We would like to pass on our thanks to Paul and all at Emperor in Hurghada.

Brian Goddard and his son recently completed their MOD 3 training on Classic Inspirations with Tekstreme Manager, Aaron Bruce. Here's what Brian had to say…

After some research I decided on Tekstreme at Emperor divers. A couple of e-mails later and Aaron Bruce had the course organised. All we had to do was arrange for excess baggage to get all our kit to Sharm. Through Thomson Fly, we pre-booked unlimited water sports equipment for £60 return, which worked well despite the 28Kg weight of the case.
In Sharm, Aaron presented us with our course reading and we decided on a day's general diving to acclimatise. Each day we carried out the dive plan and executed the drills, either planned or indicated, during the dive. Each dive was followed with a debrief covering the various aspects of our performances on the dive and the lessons learned. Aaron has a very laid back approach and a way of putting across his obvious wealth of knowledge and experience that almost has you believing you are coming up with the solutions all by yourself. The theory exam was focussed on the practical aspects of diving and was very thorough.
At the end of the four days my son and I were shattered but filled with a sense of achievement and the knowledge that, despite our many years of diving, our knowledge of the theory and practice of diving had just undergone a major improvement. Course completed, on our last day we undertook a deep fun dive and Aaron took the time to dive with us. All in all a very enjoyable and rewarding week. I cannot speak too highly of Aaron's instruction or the organisation that he and Emperor Divers put into delivering our course.
I have no reservations in recommending Aaron and Tekstreme to anyone wishing to undertake CCR training. Highlight of the week - the dive in Thomas Canyon, awesome!

I would like to publicly thank Emperor Divers as a whole for my recent trip to Sharm to complete an advanced Trimix course. The entire operation from the bus drivers and boat crew to the reception staff and dive guides was testament to the reputation of professionalism that the company enjoys. I have used Emperor on numerous occasions over the years for my holiday diving with no complaints whatsoever but this is the first time that I have used you for instruction. I am so pleased that I did as I feel that the knowledge I have gained from Mickael has been etched into my mind forever due to his sympathetic and understanding approach. I will never forget what I have been taught from a very tough week's tuition from an instructor that won't take any excuses for under-performing. His manner throughout the week was commendable in my eyes as, at times, he must have been wondering what he had been landed with. Mickael is a person with a great enthusiasm for teaching people who are prepared to learn and stick to the rules he lays down in advance. My thanks also go to Aaron who, without his understanding of the situation and his willingness to help, I fear would have resulted in me sunbathing for a week. So to the entire team at Emperor I say THANK YOU.
Ian Hathaway, England March 2007

My certificate came today! I'm impressed. I'd like to thank Paul Vinten again for the training; you made it easy to understand and kept it relaxed.
Nic Hall, Limerick, Ireland February 2007

I would like to say a very huge thank you to Paul Vinten for my week's diving - I enjoyed it immensely. Linda and I are already planning next year's holiday - we will be back - if you can put up with me for another week that is. Hopefully I will by then have learned a little more about the VR3! So if I may take this opportunity to say thank you once again and you never know I may see you at the dive show in London in 2007.
Steve Phibbs, Kent, England September 2006

I would just like to thank Sharm Emperor for the week day boat diving last week and especially Aaron who got me all the right bits for my rebreather. Also Dan who was very good on the day boats guiding us with very informative briefings and Gary and Sarah also when we switched boats.
The Sodfa chef made our food better than our hotel, with home baked cake in the afternoon. Thanks to Tim who had a logistical nightmare with an extra 120 divers on top of his normal agenda.
Terry Goldie, England January 2006

I'm just back from Dahab and my Trimix course with Mickael. It's rare that I feel compelled to write again after finishing with a course. Usually I take what I've learned and apply it as soon as I can after returning to my own environment and that's the end of it. I wanted, though, to express my delight and thanks. Mickael was truly superb with me. He tailored the Trimix course to fit with what I needed, gave me a great deal extra [skills and information I can use as a safety diver] and he spent time filling in the blanks with what was missing in my diving experience and knowledge. Something I was hoping for and am extremely thrilled to have found in this course was one that both challenged me and built my confidence [in a safe and intelligent way] to a level where I am now prepared to continue diving deeper for longer. When I'm ready to advance further - I'll be back, says it all really.

I would like to express my thanks to both of your Instructors for the way the courses were delivered and the manner in which their knowledge and expertise was passed on to me. The courses far surpassed any other training I have had over my 20 years of diving by any other agency. Paul and Mickael were professional in all aspects of the courses, especially Mickael with his Inspiration knowledge and experience. I learned how much I don't know!

I have been diving with Emperor Divers for four years and the standard just keeps going up. David's (Lord) dive briefs were the best yet.
Dottie Monaghan, Upminster, Essex

I had the excellent tuition of Margaret Johnston of the Technical Department on the Deep, Wreck, Multi-Level and Night specialities. Her commitment, knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise meant these courses were well run, exciting and have provided a firm foundation for my future dives in these fields … David Lord's immense experience in all fields of diving is evident in his dive briefings embellished with historical and anecdotal references to the sites. I knew I was in the hands of an expert. David's teaching skills, like Margaret's, are second to none. Finally, in both David and Margaret, Emperor Divers has a core Technical team that any other dive school in Sharm would be proud of. Lastly, due credit must be given to the many unmentioned Emperor diving instructors, divemasters and support staff who have made my time here such a pleasure.
