Divers talk their liveaboard adventures:
Thank you once again for your kind hospitality at Hurghada Dive Centre, hope we didn't have you running around too much. Please also pass on our thanks to the dive guides and boat crew on Infinity. We had a great time as usual and look forward to the using the boat again in the future. Maybe a Get Wrecked Week!

First of all I want to tell you what a great adventure the Egypt trip truly was. I feel very fortunate that I was able to participate with such a talented and gregarious group. Diving the Red Sea is more than a Diving Trek to experience some of the great diving in the world, but a trip to Egypt embodies a lifetime experience in ancient history.
The cordial and genuine hospitality provided by Theresa and Terry made the diving portion one of the best I have had on a liveaboard, and remember I have been diving for over 50 years so this places them on a special pinnacle.
I also think that diving the Red Sea and visiting Egypt is a mystical trip that transcends most dive trips. Yes you are going for the diving, but the cultural aspect of visiting Egypt exceeds your expectations. It was truly a life experience and I am looking forward to our return.
Dick, USA May 2008
Just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful trip diving the Red Sea, it was an AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Thanks for the opportunity to see some incredible sites and meet some fantastic people.
Peggy S. Kurpinski, Adventure Scuba, Michigan, USA May 2008
I would like to thank the Captain and staff aboard Emperor Tranquillity for a most enjoyable stay and would like to compliment the staff for excellent food during the week. I have to say there was always a helpful, friendly member of staff present to look after any other requirements. Ahmed was very attentive during my week's stay and Mikkel, the dive guide and gas cylinder booster, did an excellent job that was quite challenging because 40 x 2ltr cylinders needed to be filled after every dive along with topping up the air bailout cylinders. This he did in very good spirit and I must congratulate them both on their professional attitude and very good humour.

A massive thank you to everyone who made our Superior Classic Cruise so great...and such a special way of concluding our honeymoon in Egypt! Fantastic vessel, amazing crew and guides with wonderful diving thrown in for good measure! To dive the Thistlegorm (twice) and swim with dolphins in the same day...hopes and dreams made a reality! Thanks again to all.
Dan and Sam Jackson, UK March 2008
Many thanks for all your help organising and during our recent liveaboard trip on Superior. We had a wonderful time and it seems everyone is signed up for a return trip next year. As we said in the questionnaire, we cannot think of anything more that we needed to improve the trip for us. Everyone was great so I don't want to pick out individuals but just to point out that our group had a couple of dietary issues which were handled sensitively every day and this was really appreciated.

Having recently returned from taking a really excellent Classic Cruise on Superior as prize in the monthly competition earlier in the year I would like once again to express my thanks to all concerned for the extremely generous prize.
I and the friend who accompanied me as part of the prize, plus other friends who were paying guests, really enjoyed a week to remember. Although a regular on exploratory trips in "The South", this was my first trip in the north and the Classic Cruise itinerary was an excellent one to do, covering as its name implies the majority of the "Classic" dive sites. Given the uncertainty over timing of works on the Thistelgorm we were particularly pleased to find that we were able to dive it and that it was not to busy with others. Photos from the trip are on my website at www.finsnphotos.org.uk.
The boat and crew could not be faulted living up to all expectations and matching its name "Superior". Having Nitrox available free and "on tap" is excellent and we used this all week to great benefit. We were especially pleased to find that we were hosted on board for the week by Dive Guide Ahmed Fadel who we have dived with on a number of occasions in the past and is a major asset to the company.
I would certainly recommend the companies to others and am currently looking to arranging a further trip on an Emperor boat next summer.

My wife Pilar and I are absolutely over the moon about the safari we have just had on Fraser. Everything was excellent - the boat, the crew, your two wonderful dive guides, Annia and Anneke, and of course the dive sites we were fortunate enough to visit. This is has been our second holiday with Emperor, but I know it won't be our last.

We had a very nice week on Emperor Asmaa. Karin and Juan were looking after in a perfect manner and the rest of the crew was let's saying "first class" [sorry there is not really a translation for "allererste Sahne" but it is like the finest of the fine things J]. It was the best safari we ever had and will come back to one of your boats for sure!
Peter and Sandra Praxl, Germany October 2007
I really want to thank you all for helping me and making this holiday possible! Thanks! I enjoyed the holiday a lot. I took part of every dive (19 dives) so you wouldn't regret getting me and my mother back on Serenity! I think Emperor fleet had the best, nicest and most helping staff I've ever seen. Really great! I will say it to everybody who wants to hear it!
Alexandra van Logchem, Germany October 2007
I would like to say what a fantastic trip we all had on board the Majesty. The dive guides, Ahmed, Aziz and Mishka were exemplary. The dive site and safety briefings were excellent. What I was very impressed with was the respect shown to everyone on the trip as to their experience and diving abilities, being allowed to plan our own dives and dive in buddy teams following the dive site briefings. Ahmed is a consummate professional in every way and an asset to Emperor.
The liveaboard, Majesty, surpassed everyone's expectations, what a superb boat and the crew were attentive, courteous, professional and fun.
The itinerary 'The Big Four' was great, I was surprised as to the variety of dive sites, there was something for everyone. The swim throughs at St John's Caves and Claudinet were amazing, the quality and quantity of corals on the sites are great.
All in all a superb experience and dive trip. As a trip organiser and leader it made my life so easy that the trip, guides, crew and liveaboard exceeded everyone's expectations.
Gary Morrison, PADI Master Instructor #633121, England October 2007
An absolutely amazing trip on Infinity, organised by Regal. The diving was awesome, the crew was attentive and the dive guides - Nick and Lisa: simply stunning in every way. I cannot sing their praises enough - they should be commended for making the trip as successful as it was. We all had the best dive trip in a long time, if not ever. The next trip in June is pretty much booked up already! Emperor shall definitely be recommended in the future and certainly used for future trips.

Serenity on a South and St John's Cruise - "a fantastic live aboard holiday to the Southern Red Sea"
We were all very pleased with Serenity, as there was only 14 of us on board we had loads of room, however with 20 on board there would still be plenty of space. The boat was spotless, the chef was excellent and the food plentiful. There was plenty of cold water and soft drinks available. The crew was very helpful at all times, especially considering it was the middle of Ramadan and they were doing all this on an empty stomach. Most importantly the diving and the dive guides, Ute and Jim, were excellent. The captain is a diver himself and seemed to have our interests at heart as well. We managed 20 dives in the week, had a great time and everyone was thrilled.
The transfers to and from the boat, the hotel we were hanging out in on Wednesday and our passage through Marsa Alam airport all went without a hitch.'

Thank you for a wonderful holiday upon the liveaboard Serenity. What a fantastic boat. Thanks to the Captain Mohammed and crew and especially to our hosts Jim and Ute. We cannot find a thing that wasn't well run and organised. The diving, food and cleanliness and comfort of Serenity. The helpfulness and politeness of all the crew. Cannot wait to spend another week on a liveaboard. Thanks once again for a tremendous time.

Now new Nitrox divers
Having returned to Portugal we'd like to thank everyone at Emperor Divers for the terrific week we spent on board Infinity. The boat was really nice, the crew very good and the diving unforgettable. This was my third liveaboard in the Red Sea and for sure the best. I'm really grateful for all help received when we lost our connecting flight from Cairo to Hurghada. Without it we would have missed a week that we will never forget. Finally, I'd like to thank and highlight the excellent work done by the two dive guides Cláudio and Michelle. I've been diving extensively all over the world and they are for sure among the best dive guides I had - very professional, competent and friendly. Well done!
I look forward to diving again with you guys in a near future.

Hello Emperor Diver,
Infinity on a Classic North Cruise in the North of the Red Sea was great and left no wishes unfulfilled!
On arrival at the Airport (around midnight) we were met by our Guides Nick and Lisa and then we went to the boat. After a midnight snack and a short briefing we went to our cabins. One of the other guests on the boat has left her bag (passport, money, etc.) on the luggage drolly at the airport. The Team of Emperor reacted perfect and it was possible to find all the lost property!
In the morning we departed. We left the marina at 7:00 am and around 11:00 am we did our first dive - check dive - nice and easy - one of the thousands of wonderful coral reef in the Red Sea. Our trip was leading us through the North of the Red Sea.
Reefs, Wrecks, Fishes - all that in a water temperature around 26 / 27 degrees (August).
The wrecks for example the Carnatic, the Ghianis D and of course one of the highlights is the Thistlegorm. The traveling times between the divesites was very short - and just the crossing of the Straits of Gubal was a little bit rocky.
Very easy we got into the Safari Rhythm - Diving - Eating - Sleeping - Reading and Chatting. We did 3 dives on the first and 2 dives on the last day; on all the other days we had the possibility to make 4 dives: in the morning - midday - afternoon and a night dive - every day!
All the divers were perfectly organized and we had a professional briefing. Nick developed his artistic talent when he drew the Divesite Maps. The Dive deck is spacious and there was always one of the crew around to help you for kitting up with your diving equipment. Depending on the Divesite, the dives are done from the boat or from the zodiac which of course also returns to pick you up after your dive.
The rented equipment (BCD/Regulator) was in very good condition and worked without any problems. I forgot my SMB and also my torch run out of battery - but no problem - I could rent everything onboard!
Courses could be done onboard up to the wishes of the guests - Nitrox, Deep, etc. - I did a Nitrox Course with Lisa (great!) and dived from the 3rd day on Nitrox free of charge. Also the guests who did a Deep Specialty with Nick were very satisfied.
The chief did a great job - various foods and tasty, very important for me that there was a big variety of tasty salads and vegetables.
The boat is very big and spacious, the cabins are really nice and each one has a good working Air-condition unit - own bathroom and always warm water.
In the evening you can enjoy the unforgettable and wonderful sunsets on the sundeck and (if you wake up very early) also the sunrise. - The Lounge you have the possibility to look at your diving pictures on a big flatscreen TV.
All the guests were very nice and they came from Spain - Portugal - England - Australia and Germany.
Starting from making the booking where I was looked very well after and the entire Emperor Team was very fast responding and working professional! All in all a perfect Liveaboard package for Safari fans and for those who want to try it - I can just recommend Emperor - And give them 5 out of 5 stars!
Many thanks to Nick, Lisa, the crew of Infinity and the whole Emperor Team!
Susanne Zuehlke, Germany August 2007
Having recently returned from a safari on Emperor Serenity I wanted to inform you how impressed I was with the trip from start to finish. I currently work as a dive guide in Sharm and therefore have insider knowledge as to expected service levels and potential problems. With this in mind I have very high standards and expectations, all of which were exceeded on this trip.
Firstly the staff, I can not praise them enough. The crew on the boat was helpful, hard-working, friendly and fun. They were totally inconspicuous yet efficient. Everything seemed to be done but always discreetly. Always clean, water in the coolers, clean glasses, cups, snacks never run low, toilet paper always there, bins emptied tanks filled… I could go on!
The boat itself is incredible! I feel like I am now slumming when I go back to my normal day boats! As for your guides, we had Hany, Aziz and Foad, all a real asset to Emperor, Aziz was our guide for most of the week and was safe yet relaxing to dive with, he also was enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable out of the water. Foad was great, sadly we did not dive with him but the guests who did were very impressed. Last but not least Hany, he deserves a medal for taking all the teasing I dished out in the week. He was extremely professional at all times and managed to run a tight ship whilst remembering that we were all on holiday. He was able to deal with difficult guests in an assertive and polite manner, has a great relationship with all the crew and other guides and has limitless energy…does that man ever sleep?
The cakes and present for my parents was a lovely and unexpected touch, thank you.

After 40 years of diving, we finally made it to the Red Sea. Wow, now I understand what all the fuss is about. The waters around the Brothers, Elphinstone and Daedalus Reefs that we explored offered world class plus diving. Great to experience 40-meter visibility once again. Being underwater naturalists, my wife, Anna, and I were in heaven, what an extraordinary set of fishes. Seeing the area's endemic species alone was worth the visit. And what wonderful accommodations: The Emperor Elite, a member of Emperor Divers' Gold Fleet, was everything a liveaboard vessel should be - spacious, clean, well appointed and manned by an experienced crew that always had us in the water at the most advantageous times. Now that we are in the know, it certainly won't be another 40 years until we make it back. In fact, we are planning a 2008 return, this time with friends and much more time to enjoy one of the ocean's greatest wildlife shows.
Ned and Anna DeLoach, USA May 2007
We had an excellent trip (that was a unanimous decision by all 19 of us). The weather was great, the boat was great, Fefe and the crew were great, the diving was great and all the arrangements/transfers etc worked like clockwork. Everyone had nothing but praise for Emperor Divers and their staff, who were incredibly helpful (Lisa at the Emperor office near the Hilton Hotel even organised for us to go to the Divers barbeque the night we spent in Hurghada on the way back.) Michelle from Prodive in Port Elizabeth handled all the arrangements and I was very impressed.
Geoff Spiby, Cape Town, South Africa May 2007
What a great time we had on Emperor Fraser, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
Annika is a very committed and professional dive guide, just the right blend of professional guidance mixed with friendliness and humour. The crew was a joy to be with. Mohammed the chef produced excellent food all week. And Capt. Sala was obviously extremely experienced. Very many thanks indeed and see you again next year.
Richard Labrum, England May 2007
Emperor Serenity: The crew was perfect (friendly, obliging, professional) and the boat is simply the best! It's a pleasure to enjoy the Red Sea in such conditions.
I have just some comments regarding the dives: it's true that we were supposed to change site for each dive, but if one place if beautiful, it should be possible to repeat the dive (if all the guests are OK) and not an obligation to move. The trip with Emperor was really great.

Just wanted to say thanks to Nick, Anneke & all the crew on Emperor Elite for a fantastic week's diving at St Johns & Fury Shoals. It was our second time down there and our best foreign dive trip to date. Highlights were St John's Caves and Shaab Claudia plus all the other pristine sites down south. Already thinking about booking another liveaboard same time next year with Emperor. Now the delights of the early UK dive season await us!
Marc Taylor & Christina Papaoikonomou, London, England March 2007
Just a quick line to thank all at Emperor for such an incredible week. We are Emperor regulars and do at least one Safari a year for our Club but this one topped the lot. We did wonder if you could ever better a week on the Infinity but Elite came up with the goods. The safari was a class trip and our thanks go in particular to Anneke, Nick and the rest of the crew. We could not have asked for more, so please pass on our thanks.
Mark, Aqualeisure Dive, England March 2007
Wow, what a fabulous holiday. I admit this was my first trip and I was a little concerned, seasickness, quality of accommodation and food. You surpassed my expectations a brilliant trip on Elite, good diving and great crew. Special thanks to Nick and Anneke who were excellent. What can I say? I can't wait for my next trip.
John Simick, Aqualeisure Dive, England March 2007
Thank you so much for the wonderful time Lisa-Marie and I had during our dive safari on Emperor Fraser. The organisation was just perfect (thanks to Wali and everybody else involved). No problems at any point, transfers were just smooth and on the boat the crew never even gave us a chance to formulate any wish because they made sure that there were no wishes left :)
The food was good and very diversified and special orders were taken care of instantly. I especially enjoyed the barbecue towards the end of the safari - what a great way to socialise with both the guests and the crew/dive guides - keep that one up and going! What a friendly and helpful crew! And thank you so much for arranging for the wedding anniversary cake and the little party - Lisa-Marie & I had a lot of fun.
Regarding the dive guides, Abdou and Juan, excellent briefings, always discovered great stuff underwater and pointed it out to everyone interested, absolutely helpful both above and under water. Abdou always had a smile on his face and Juan definitely made sure what his idea and rules of diving are (which I think is very good) and then focussed on being the great dive guide that he is.
Our general impression: The Dive Safari with Emperor Fleet was extremely professional and highly organised. Some people might be a little irritated about the formalism prior to starting the safari but to me it was just another sign of how professional you go about dive safaris. Gave me a very comforting and safe feeling. I am looking forward to the next dive safari on one of the boats of the Emperor Fleet and I already signed up for your newsletter. A review on the dive safari will follow shortly on www.taucher.net.

Emperor Infinity! What a great boat, with great guides, Nick and Anneke, and a good crew. The last night party was special and it was good to see familiar faces. It was just a shame that I wasn't able to spot the dolphins or turtles everyone else did - must have had something to do with my face being stuck in a camera all week!
I think having Nitrox, and free/part-free to customers is a great safe idea, especially on the liveaboards. I dive with Nitrox in the UK for most of the time and it has real benefits.
Tony Gilbert, Macclesfield, England January 2007
I had a wonderful time onboard Emperor Infinity and really enjoyed the cruise.
I would like to thank the whole Emperor Fleet team for their excellent service and support before, during and after the cruise. My special thanks go to the Infinity crew - they did a brilliant job throughout the journey. They were always friendly and made every effort so that we all felt comfortable and enjoyed our trip. Overall, it was a memorable experience. I will definitely come back, and will also be recommending the Emperor Fleet to my friends and colleagues for their holidays too.
KM, Holland February 2007
This trip can only be recommended. Great care from A-Z. We were picked up at Hurghada airport and transferred directly to the boat and the next day our trip started.
During the trip, Anneke and Nick (our guides) looked after us very well, as did the crew who were supporting us during our whole stay onboard and were also very funny. An all-round, perfectly organised trip. Unforgettable are the detailed briefings where one was able to imagine the dive beforehand. Also the boat, Infinity, offers a rich measure of comfort, a very roomy dive deck where one finds sufficient space even with 20 people. In this trip, everything was simply perfect. And the most important thing - the diving: After the briefing at 7 o'clock in the morning, we were ready to enjoy our first amazing dive. Hungrily we threw ourselves on the breakfast buffet then three more dives followed, interrupted with lying around and chatting about previous dives. There was always tasty and sufficient food. Whoever was interested could do an on-board Nitrox-course for just 99 €. Sure we had to study a little, but if we needed any help, Nick (our instructor) was always supportive and ready to help. The sites were all "superlatives", for example some wrecks like the Thistlegorm, Carnatic and the Giannis D, not to forget the drift dives along the fantastic drop-offs and the prestigious coral gardens. Already at the first dive we joined a school of 12 dolphins, what more do you want?
With pain in our heart we had to end our trip, but not all was finished yet. We were invited to a barbecue where Emperor Fleet guest care manager, Wali, and dive guide, Ute, took very good care of us. With a lot of fun and laughter we spent our last evening. The three of us will carry the beautiful memories of our great liveaboard with Emperor for a long time. We are looking forward to further trips, which we will book definitely with Emperor Infinity again, as it is a great boat.

We really had a great time on Emperor Serenity, thanks! Our daughter of 11 was with us and she celebrated her 100th dive! She is something special I can tell.
Because of our daughter I have been surfing the Emperor website and I saw the Family Cruise on the Infinity next year, end April/begin May. Because she is so young, but already experienced, she is always in between adults.... It would be so nice for her if she can meet more children on a diving holiday.
Monique Nihot, Zandvoort, the Netherlands October 2006
Thank you for a great week on Emperor Asmaa and please give my regards to the crew and dive guides, Hany and Ahmed, who were really great and took good care of us also when the diving trip itself had ended. As long as you can keep up this super standard in combination with a nice price, I will surely look first for an Emperor trip when selecting my next "target" next year.
Finally, I have to add that we were also very satisfied with our (small but very helpful) Dutch tour operator "Desert Roos" here in the Netherlands who handled everything great for us.

Many thanks for the wonderful holiday spend on the 'Get Wrecked' trip aboard Emperor Infinity. The boat was pristine and spacious. The dive guides, Chris, Fefe and Nick, worked well as a team and were very professional - no inconsistencies but thorough, detailed briefings. The selection of the dive sites, whether wreck or reef, was simply the best! The crew was equally as attentive, although working hard in the background, and both guides and crew formed a tight unit and gave me a feeling of security. For me it was never boring on board and anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of the marine life or diving could do this just from the boat's own library! However, the motivated guides wanted to expand everyone's diving capacities and taught the Nitrox diver certification in a very proficient manner. And the chef! He supplied us with great meals, delivered with a great humour - always a joke on his lips. The meals were always fresh, tasty and plentiful. And throughout the day, there were fresh fruits, soft drinks and mineral water available, for free. The tour was fantastic from beginning to end!
Big praise also for your Daily Diving Centre in Hurghada's Hilton Resort, which organises and co-operates so well with the planning - no wonder everything works as well as it does - JUST FANTASTIC!
Stephan Gimmel, Switzerland September 2006
We just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for everything! We had the best and most well organised holiday ever, thank you for the birthday cake too. The dive team and the crew were fantastic and we are already planning the next trip, which will be around Christmas time, we shall plan it a lot more in advance than last time though, this one was very last minute. Please convey my very best wishes and thanks in particular to Fefe, Chris, Ania, Said, 'the crazy chef !' and all the crew, and to both guys who did our transfers to and from the airport and who made us feel safe and welcome. Regarding Fefe's briefings, they were the most informative and interesting we have ever had, her drawings were excellent and it was very interesting to hear the history behind either the wreck or reef area we were diving.
Anke, thank you to you also for all your arrangements and patience with our booking.
We can not recommend you highly enough for safety both on land and diving for service by the crew, drivers and the guides and the boat, which was really comfortable, well organised and homely.
Nerina & Jason Burgess, Abbots Bromley, England September 2006
Thank you very much for the beautiful North Safari from 28 July until 4 August 2006! Could you please pass our biggest thanks to our professional, friendly and very helpful guides, Ute and Jim. They made our holidays so refreshing and relaxing that now it is hard to get back to the business. Also please pass our thanks to our Captain, who was not only very professional but also very friendly - he did not hesitate jumping into the Zodiac and taking us to the dolphins! And, of course, our thanks go to the Chef (especially for the huge and very tasty turkey) and the rest of the Crew. We will definitely be back on the other safaris!
Vineta, Armands Janis, Riga, Latvia August 2006
My wife and me will most certainly visit the Red Sea with Emperor Divers again. We had a wonderful week with fantastic diving on Emperor Asmaa. The corals and wildlife of the Red Sea is almost unbelievable in its abundance and variation. The crew of the Asmaa was fantastic and the food! I lack words to describe it. The chef must be one of the world's wonders. Another thing we really appreciate is the high level of service offered by the whole Emperor diver staff. Everything from booking to contacts taken after the trip has been more than satisfactory. Like I said in the beginning, we will most certainly come back.
Jens & Ann-Sofie Nilsson, Gothenburg, Sweden August 2006
Whenever you travel a long way on holiday you have concerns about the commitments you made. Is the hotel located in a good area, will the staff be friendly, what is the boat really going to look like, am I going to get bored diving on a liveaboard for seven days? I must tell you that Emperor Fleet is first class all the way. From day one you met and exceeded my every expectation, and I travel the world. I will be back to dive the southern area of the Red Sea. I recommend your group to everybody I speak with. The crew, the food, the equipment; all was first class. Thanks for the pleasurable experience.
Harry Tangalakis, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA August 2006
Following a week aboard one of your Liveaboards last week I feel I must congratulate your company, and especially Donna, in the way the whole week was conducted. Donna exuded confidence appreciated by a very novice older diver. Her ability to hover to instruct in a way that even a 76-year-old guy could take in will ever be appreciated. Her pre-dive briefings were obviously based on many hours of diving in that area; her awareness of duty of care was to inspire such confidence that I could even swim at a given depth for at least 5 minutes! Your company should be justly proud of this young lady for I know, employing some 40 staff at our Vauxhall Dealership, how difficult it is to obtain staff with that type of customer awareness. Donna is a credit to your company. A young lady who will probably say, 'Oh but it is only my job!' Ok doing her job made me very happy. Thank you Donna and all the crew. See you next year? YES!

Our group had a wonderful week and very much enjoyed diving with Emperor. We would particularly like to thank Anne and Steve (from Emperor) and the excellent crew of Empress Theresa who helped the week run smoothly. There was only one slight niggle from the group - it rained last Wednesday for about 10 minutes! If only you could sort that too with the "boss upstairs"! Please convey our thanks and appreciation to the guys at the dive centre and the boat crew.

I will certainly come back to the Emperor Fleet; I had a very nice time. I would like to mention again that all the staff of the Majesty were very nice; relaxed and very helpful, especially our Swiss dive guide Fefe (Frederique Morisod) was fantastic. She made underwater photos of everyone and everything. At end of the trip, she gave us all the photos burnt on a CD! Besides that she is just very kind, helpful, professional and funny!
Ilse Boermans, Netherlands May 2006
We had a fantastic time on our safari and are already looking forward to the next one. We spent our last night in the Coral Beach Hotel and were really impressed. Here's a photo I took on the trip.
Dave, Croxley Green, England May 2006
Rarely, if ever do I send an e-mail in praise of good service received, but in this instance I shall make an exception. We have just returned from an Emperor Fleet liveaboard, MY INFINITY - what a fantastic boat she is. Fully ensuite rooms with plenty of additional communal areas to socialise or chill out and as for the crew, I cannot praise them enough. From the quality of the boat, superb food, to the well-executed rib entries and recoveries the whole trip was a pleasure and we will certainly be returning.
A special thanks goes to Gary & Carol for their relaxed (but not casual) attitude to the weeks diving; they very were informative and made each and every dive a pleasurable experience.
p.s. To all those that fell about laughing as I fell out of the rib whilst still moored to infinity, I WAS JUST PRACTICING MY ENTRY TECHNIQUE, HONESTLY
Peter Gibbons, Eastbourne, England May 2006
Just wanted to say thanks again for an amazing trip on Emperor Amelia. Diving with dolphins and being the only boat on the Thistlegorm were just two of the highlights.
Jim and Ute deserve the highest praise, as they are the best dive guides I've had for a long time.
Julie Groves, London, England February 2006
Thank you very much for everything, the diving was fantastic. Thanks for arranging everything and giving us so much info and we would love to dive with you again. The King Snefro 6 was lovely; the crew were fantastic and so helpful and the guide Amir is one in a million. We have already filled in the King Snefro guest book, thanks again.
John and Isabella Jackson, Vienna, Austria January 2006
We had a great trip last week on the stay and cruise with Emperor Divers at Marsa Alam. There were a group of 14 of us and I think it is the first Red Sea trip I've organised for the club where there have been no complaints (and we've organised one a year since 1998!).
Comments received were "best yet" - "great trip" - "I'll do a live aboard again" - "brilliant food - first time we've had no-one go down with Egyptian stomach problems" - "great crew - they really wanted to make us have a good time even though we were only on the boat for 3 days".
On a personal note I would like to thank the dive guides for a great week. Both Donna and Luc worked well with the group. They knew what we were doing but were not overpowering and let the experienced divers get on with it and enjoy their diving, but were also happy to help those who wanted them to guide them.
The Oceanic White Tip at Elphinstone was the highlight of the trip - see our club web-site at www.bsac36.org.uk and follow the link to news to see how close he came!

Thought it only fair to give a bit of feedback on the Majesty trip - and it's all positive! The boat was a very good quality liveaboard - compared very well with my recent trips on Hurricane & Typhoon; the crew was certainly the best I've travelled with; the dive guides, Ralph & Mercedes, were every bit as good as you promised and - best of all - the weather was beyond my expectations for this time of year, virtually no wind, calm seas and balmy evenings.
The diving? Excellent visibility, good reefs, lots of life especially grey reef and oceanic white-tip sharks, and a magical last day's diving with a playful pod of dolphins!
And I must say that Emperor Divers attracts a very nice, cosmopolitan mix of people. Fiona (my daughter) and I enjoyed their company very much. This was Fiona's first trip to the Red Sea and that she came on this trip as a snorkeller. Well, she enjoyed the whole experience so much that she's enrolling on a PADI Open Water diver referral course with the intention of completing the qualifying dives somewhere in the Red Sea (hopefully with Emperor!).
Now before you think this feedback is too good - it's not intended to be sycophantic. It's a fair report of an excellent experience. And I don't praise lightly (or indeed, normally bother with feedback questionnaires). Thank you to Emperor Divers, and thanks, Stephanie.

A brilliant week's diving in Marsa Alam on Fraser with Caroline and Mario. They were fantastic guides, offering just the right level of supervision and were always friendly and pleasant with the guests. Additionally, the food was exceptional.
Unfortunately, on the last dive I experienced a very slight bend. I can only complement Caroline and Mario for their professional handling of the situation and the speed at which they got me to the chamber and assisted throughout the initial treatment.
Emma Chignell, High Wycombe, England December 2005
I only want to thank you for that beautiful week (27.10.-3.11.2005) with Emperor Amelia. I enjoyed the trip. A big thanks to the diveguides Ute and Jim and the Captain Mohammed Abdul and his Crew.
Nicole Sonnweber, Vorarlberg, Austria November 2005
I dived with Emperor Asmaa to Elphinstone, Fury Shoals. Our guides were Richard Seale and Alicia Hattersley, the chef was Khalid and Mr Ali was our steward. The service on board the boat was outstanding. Richard and Alicia hit the perfect balance between ensuring safe diving, treating us like honoured guests and running a perfect house party on a boat for a week. The ambience was super; it was very relaxed but very well informed and organised. As we were 12 people made up of one's and twos who'd never met before, they did a super job in ensuring a relaxed and comfortable week for everyone. Somehow, Richard and Ali also managed to put us on reefs time after time where we were the only boat, or one of three, and on the horizon we could see up to 8 boats all tied onto the same reef.
As a result of their good management the whole ship was very smoothly run, with Mr Khalid turning out exceptionally good, varied food made with good quality ingredients and lots of variety. Given that we were in heavy seas for the whole week and we had 5 vegetarians, 2 non-fish eaters and 1 non-wheat eater in a total of 12 people! Mr Ali, the ever smiling, extremely efficient steward ensured that all meals were beautifully presented. The bbq on the top deck on the last night on board was an amazing feat given that we'd been in 4-6 foot seas all day. The boat is clearly ready for its refit after a hard season, but somehow none of those details mattered because we were all having such a good time. I'd certainly ask to be on their boat again and I'd time my holiday to ensure that. From comments I got from the other folk on the trip, they were of the same opinion.
Susan Playfair, Dubai November 2005
Just a quick note to say we had a great time on M/Y Amelia diving South & St Johns last week. The weather was kind to us and we managed 20 dives over the 6 days.
Ralf and Mercedes were excellent dive guides with an in depth knowledge of the dive sites we visited and due to their expertise everything ran smoothly.
The crew on M/Y Amelia was very helpful and friendly. They kept the boat clean and tidy, the food was plentiful and of good quality and they were always on hand to make us a hot drink after a dive.
It was our first liveaboard trip and we were not sure what to expect, however we thoroughly enjoyed it. It is something we will definitely do again.
Thanks to everyone at Emperor for handling the reservation and please pass on our thanks once again to Ralf and Mercedes and the crew on M/Y Amelia for an excellent trip.
See you again soon!

I'm just writing to say a big thank you to everyone involved in making our diving holiday great. My dad and me have just got back from a week's cruise and stay programme in Marsa Alam, Egypt, originally staying at the Amaraya Club and onboard the MV Pegasus. At the 11th hour, we were upgraded to the brand new Coral Beach Diving Hotel and onboard the MV Polly.
We booked our holiday through the Dive Magazine and Tony Backhurst Scuba and we would just like to say that the service and quality of are holiday was amazing. It was a great experience for me since I am only 14 years old. (even though I'm fully qualified).
We would especially like to thank our guides on the MV Polly, Donna and Stella (from Emperor Divers) who were a great help to us, as my dad had some concerns about taking me on the holiday because of my age. They made the trip brilliant fun, and even though there were several different nationalities onboard they never made anyone feel left out or unwelcome (in the end some great friendships were made).
We would also like to recommend Tony Backhurst for all their help (concerning my age!), Emperor Divers for an excellent diving experience and the Coral Beach Diving Hotel as all the staff were so kind and helpful (even though my dad tried to swap me for a couple of camels!).
Stacey and Adrian Hill, Harwich, England October 2005
Thanks to all your staff for making our holiday such a great one! Special thanks to the crew of the Pegasus and to Irena (an excellent guide, but as mad as a box of frogs) and to your trainee guide Dave, for all the stick and mickey taking we gave him.
Hope to return next year.
Terry Ellis, Upton Park, England September 2005
I have recently returned from a week on MY Amelia with Orca Divers (1-8th September). Thanks to the dive guides Ute and Jim, they both helped make it a fantastic week. Both were really good fun and helped us with everything we needed, making sure we went to all the best dive sites, even though sometimes the going was slightly rough because of the wind. We all really enjoyed their company and their expertise while guiding us around the sites. Jim's briefings were very thorough, and artistic! Thanks again to both of them, and the crew for a fantastic week.
Ben Downes, Knutsford, England September 2005
Thanks to all the staff at Emperor, Sharm, for making our 11 days diving absolutely unforgettable for all of the right reasons! In particular to the crews of Adham and Sodfa, whose hospitality and culinary skills were second to none.
Tony & I have just returned from Marsa Alam where we did the St Johns trip on Emperor Asmaa last week. This is just to say please pass on our thanks to all at Emperor for making the booking and the trip so easy and enjoyable. I would particularly like to highly commend the crew of Asmaa, in particular the guides Richard & Ali who were very professional and made the trip so enjoyable despite the very rough weather conditions! We are already looking at a trip for next year so will be booking again in the near future. Many thanks again and keep up the excellent work.

The trip on Fraser was unbelievable. I LOVED it. All my people loved it. Even Lynne who is quite hard to please and usually has a million complaints about everything. She raved on about it and still is. The diving was incredible. Goodness I love, love, love to dive. Quite different from what I thought. I was so amazed that there were no real islands in the Red Sea where we went and that you dive on pinnacles. The hammerheads were definitely the highlight. WOW! The boat and crew were awesome and Carolyn and Mario are quite the twosome. Wonderful and very rewarding. The food certainly was in abundance. We were never hungry or wanting for anything.
All in all, I would rate it a 10+. I am telling everyone about it and that they should.

After my Liveaboard with Emperor to the Deep South, I wrote a testimonial for the Emperor website (March 2005). If you read it, you may have thought that it can hardly get any better than that. However, on the next trip it did!
I took the first dive with my guide Ally. Just a check dive of course, not meant to see a lot. This lasted until we met 3 dolphins, including a mother and child. After that came a crocodile fish. And more, but in the excitement I forgot the rest. On our return to the boat, it seemed that most other divers had missed the dolphins, or had just heard them. For me, it felt as if I could already go home a satisfied man. I didn't, of course, and more dives with Ally were to follow. They became sort of a running gag with other divers. Like: "Okay Toine, tell us what Ally and you saw this time and we missed." Of course, everyone knew that I was joking at the time that I told them that we had met 3 reef sharks at the same time, first in front of us, then one in front of us, the other on our left and the other behind us, like surrounding us, until Ally confirmed it. She had taken me into the blue, and that is what happened.
At the end of another dive, during my safety stop, I encountered a ball of sardine-like little fish direct under the boat, apparently seeking some protection. Thousands of them. Circling around them swam predators like rainbow runners, trevally's, a big barracuda and many others. Nervously, the ball of small fish twisted in unison. Left, right, down, up, quick, quick, quick. It didn't help much; the big fish hit the ball time and again, getting their fill. Pure National Geographic. At one point, as the ball came in my direction, I held my breath for a few seconds. Success was instant. For the ball of fish I seemed to become a neutral part of the sea. Seeking some protection, they engulfed me. And hit me softly against my wetsuit. Like I was standing in a shower of fish. Wow! Ally, who wasn't my buddy on that dive, even came down from the boat again to check if I was all right. My safety stop appeared to be already lasting somewhat like half an hour.
What a trip! And surely, it cannot get any better than that. Or can it? Ally and Richard already told me what a very good one the next would be!

In June 2005 we (a group of 16 Swiss divers) were on Emperor Fraser for a safari week. We did the 'Simply the Best' safari…and it was really simply the best. Good diving organised by the guides Aly and Richi, always friendly, helpful and very good briefings. A good crew and very good food! The boat was very clean and the handling by the crew seems to all people in a very safe manner! All our wishes became true, the mix of the tanks and sealife under water too! Hammerheads, reef sharks, turtles, marlin and in the end, Denis the dugong! We will come back later for another Safari, of course only with Emperor. Last many thanks to Anke, for organising this for us!

Last November, I went on a diving trip from Marsa Ghalib to the south of the Red Sea, but not with Emperor Divers. A beautiful area for diving, the trip took me on a liveaboard for a whole week. It was beautiful.
So here I am, one year later, having done another liveaboard in the Red Sea. Again doing the deep south route, but this time with Emperor Divers.
It is only natural that I compare the two trips. This comparison goes somewhat as follows:
- Last year, the company was all Dutch. This year, the trip seemed more like a United Nations-excursion. We had representatives from Sweden, Great Britain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Russia and Australia. That means representatives from Europe, Australia and Africa. If Ivan lives in the Asian part of Russia, Asia was also included.
- Last year's company consisted of 28 divers. This year's company had 16 divers.
- On those 28 divers of last year, there was one diving guide, a very amiable Belgium. On the 16 divers of this year, there were two diving guides, Richard and Ally.
- Last year, all 28 divers prepared for the dives and went in to the water at the same time. That made it pretty busy on both the rear deck and in the water. This year, Richard and Ally came to the wise decision of splitting the group of 16 divers in two, so that all the divers had more room for preparation and the dive itself.
- Last year, I sometimes wondered if the guide would have noticed if not 28 but only 27 divers had returned from their dive, had not anyone told him so. That certainly changed this year. Richard and Ally made sure on each return that everyone was accounted for. They also meticulously noted all the relevant statistics from every diver, such as Bar in and Bar out, maximum depth and dive time. This made a very professional impression.
- Last year's diving guide sometimes literally seemed out of his depth. He did not know all the reefs we dived. At one point he didn't even know the name. So he named it Gota Patat, a patat being a Belgium French fry and in this case the equivalent of a pinnacle. Not so this year. Richard an Ally showed an extensive knowledge of every reef we visited, practically knowing the home-address of every turtle and clownfish.
- Last year's guide mostly told us where the captain wanted to go next. Not so this year. This year I often noticed Richard and Ally going to the captain together, plainly in order to see where the next dive could be. They did this not as an act of routine, but out of a shared passion, and a dedication to us, to try to get to the best diving site available. Preferably before any other boat. Even as this meant starting the engines on a godforsaken hour in the night and therefore waking most passengers. And even as this meant a wake-up call for the others at 05.30. And even as this meant chilling Ally to her bones on these, in her experience, grisly cold mornings.
- Add to all this the personal charm of both Richard and Ally and you will understand why I have, and I think we all have, thoroughly enjoyed the company of two great diving guides, an excellent captain and his crew and all the other things that will make this trip a fond memory.
Thank you Richard, thank you Ally and thank you Emperor.
Toine Zegers, Netherlands March 2005
I am writing to express my thanks to various people at Emperor Divers for the most enjoyable trip. I am reluctant to pick out anyone for special treatment because, as a Divemaster who has crewed on tourist boats, I know that teamwork is critical in ensuring the smooth running of any diving trip. However, I would particularly like to comment on:
- Helen aka "Mum": for her care of people needing attention for numerous different reasons, her good humour even under pressure and the fact that she tries and, as a rule, is prepared for the unexpected - a quality I respect and one to which I aspire
- Hany: for his willingness to help me after I chose to abort a night dive because of a "disagreement" with one of the people with whom I was diving
- Harald: for his considerable experience and, albeit low-key, contribution to the diving
- the skipper: for getting us where we needed to be especially on the Thistlegorm
- the boat and cabin crew: for their friendliness and for looking after me - I have slightly reduced strength and mobility following an accident some years ago
and, last but not least
- the chef: for his excellent food, prepared and served despite occasionally rough seas.
Tom "Buzz" Reid, England May 2005
Many thanks to Nigel, Jackie and all the crew of Golden One. We had a fantastic time last week. The hospitality of the crew and the food on board were superb. We had the Thistlegorm all to ourselves and with no current, and also had an amazing dive with a pod of dolphins! I'm still smiling.
Brian Ligat, c/o Scuba Time, Greenwich March 2005
I've just come back from a week's diving on board your excellent boat Fraser.
Mario & Caroline were a credit to Emperor, very helpful, full of fun, experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of every dive. The crew were brilliant, always there to assist with kiting up, cheerful and helpful in every respect.
How do I describe the food? Top class, along with the chef. A good variety, lots of it and excellently presented. The boat was amazingly clean and well maintained. I hope future divers respect the effort the crew put into keeping it that way.
When I next go on a liveaboard holiday, I will certainly book with you again. I have never had such a fantastic time diving. Keep up the good work.

Firstly I would like to express my thanks to everybody at Emperor for a wonderful safari experience onboard EMPRESS THERESA. We all had a great time with some really good diving. I don't know how our guide Ralf managed to do it but we nearly always ended up diving the best sites in the North with no other divers in the water. My thoughts turn now to the next holiday, which must be a safari. All of our group are interested in coming out again but maybe headed to the South to look for Sharks. I hear that you have a couple of new boats out in late summer next year, one of which is the Elite. We would all be very interested in travelling on this boat in particular its shakedown cruise. Can you please tell me if this would be possible and give a rough idea of the price so we can start saving now.
Martin Watts, Chippenham, England January 2005
(We're on the case, Martin, and will let you know soonest - ED)
Thanks to Paul and Lisa on Fraser for another superb safari. They always do a fantastic job of looking after us and always put themselves out 110% to make sure we enjoy our safaris. We have had the pleasure of seeing them on safari several times and each time they do a fantastic job. They truly are a credit to Emperor and a major influence in the club returning to Emperor each year.

On behalf of my group and myself I once again give my biggest thanks to Emperor Divers, the boat crew and Paul and Lisa for a fantastic week on Fraser to the Deep South (very nice big boat).
Everyone in my group had a very good week and some marvellous dives, several encounters of hammerheads, a couple of mantas, turtles and some stunning scenery with drop-offs covered in beautiful soft corals and filled with schools of fishes.
As always everything is just very professional and in a relaxed and enjoyable manner. The boat crew is always ready with a helping hand and some very good food. Paul and Lisa with their never ending good mood and big smiles - and of course good dive briefings, guiding and memorable video from underwater to bring back home. If I could choose then they shall definitely be my guides for any future trips.

I wanted to tell Emperor Divers how much I enjoyed my holidays in Egypt. Thanks a million to every one. Also a special thanks to the entire Egyptian crew on Fraser, which were extraordinarily nice to all of us and always behaved professionally!
Finally, Lisa and Paul have been extraordinary hosts! They have listened and immediately answered each of our single and simplest requests on the boat and even after we left the boat! Lisa is a brilliant coach and Paul a very talented film maker. The images he has grasped in his videos compete, without any doubt, with those filmed by Cousteau in "Le Monde du Silence", with a lot of fun in addition!
Many thanks to all of you and congratulations to you for the organisation.
Yann Christin, Paris, France 12 - 19 April, 2004 St. John's safari
Boat excellently equipped, crew professional, friendly and helpful, kitchen very good with a creative cook. Divemasters friendly and we got good information of the dive sites before diving. It was my second time deep-south and I visited Sudan some years ago, so I know what are nice dive sites and the sites we visited were beautiful.
Jasper Engel, Zwolle Netherlands November 2003
I was on the "Pegasus" northern Safari 7-14 November 03 and, although the wind made the sea a little rough, I had a fantastic time.
As a disabled diver I was a little nervous, not having been on a liveaboard previously, but my fears were unfounded. The crew were brilliant, very helpful and made things generally easy for me, Sala (the captain) was excellent, getting us to the sites ahead of the crowds and finding quiet moorings for the night. Jim and Tish (the guides) were, again, excellent, with informative and helpful briefings. All in all, a wonderful week...I will be returning (hopefully to the Sudan) next year!
Thank you again to all involved
Rob Lewarne, Walton-on-the-Naze, England
This was an incredible, wonderful week on King Snefro (22-29 Sept 03). I will never forget. Each one of you made it special for me in your own way! A huge thank you to all you guys...not to forget Ishem, Amr and the others of the crew! (I already miss the food!) Maybe I will see one or the other on one of the future trips:-)
Keep me posted once in a while on how you are doing and KEEP ON DIVING!
Inga Wefers, Germany
Thank you for a wonderful trip, we really enjoyed every moment of it. The boat (Emperor Queen) was perfect, so roomy and elegant! The diving was exciting and varied, and due to the calm weather, we got to dive many of the out-of-reach divesites. Our two guides, Ralph and Mercedes, did a very good job. We found them knowledgeable, dedicated, friendly and exciting people who take their job seriously.
This was the second time in 12 months we all went on a Red Sea safari together; yours was by far the best.
Susanne Klafstad, Oslo, Norway
If you want to go on a safari where everything is perfect, then go with Emperor! You can always count on superior boats, friendly and always helpful crew, kind, enthusiastic, fun and helpful professional guides that just seems to know every thing about everything. You simply don't get better and more interesting dive briefings. This time we made our safari with the M/Y Golden Dolphin, doing a north wreck safari. First dive on the trip started with three playful dolphins for around half an hour- some start - and yes sharks, turtles and, of course, all the super wrecks that just seem to have a never ending story to tell even though we've dived them several times. I already look forward to coming back with my groups next year.

Just a quick note to thank you for a wonderful week on Pegasus. As we say here in Ireland "the craic was mighty" but the diving was even better. Thanks for the Whale Shark and the Dolphin on the same dive, that must have taken some organising! For those who missed it - here is a picture. Beware - plans are afoot to return twice next year! We enjoyed a wonderful week in Hurghada. I wanted to thank you and all the staff of Emperor Divers at the Hilton in Hurghada for their nice and perfect job. Every thing was really perfect: the boat, the organisation, the trips. I celebrated my 100th dive on one of your boats and we celebrated it with a delicious cake, the boat crew prepared!
Thanks to everybody and best regards!

Just had a wonderful week's diving with Emperor in Hurghada, again. Whale shark, dolphins, reef shark, amazing!

Emperor Fraser's first trip - total success!
On behalf of Atlam Sub Aqua Club, I would like thank you, Emperor Divers, and our three guides Paul, Carolina and Lisa, for the fantastic trip on Fraser.
The 14 days passed like a dream. Our thanks also to all the crew. This was our fifth visit to the Red Sea with Emperor Divers. You have given us a trip to
remember.

I recently completed a week with Emperor Divers on board Pegasus with Jim & Tish as part of the Oxford Dive Centre group. I wish
to pass on my thanks to them and the crew for a fantastic week's diving. They did a brilliant job at making everyone feel comfortable
and relaxed for the week. Again thank you to all involved.

I was with the Empress Theresa April 3 -10. It was superb! My next safari will definitely be with Emperor Divers. During the trip
I have made some nice pictures. Feel free to use these. Pics were made with a Sony Cybershot at 3.3 megapixels. Just look at:

Hi Guys
I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all for making my first ever trip to Egypt truly amazing. Please pass on special
thanks to Terry Axam who was our Guide aboard the Snefro (28 April-4 May). The Crew was great and everyone at the Emperor
Divers dive centre was very friendly and helpful. Thanks again, I hope it won't be long before I'm back again!

Well, what a trip! We had a fantastic time, lots of laughs and good diving. The visibility could have been a bit better
but it was a definite improvement on Lulworth Cove. Our dive guides, Jim and Tish, were extremely good, very professional
and entertaining too. Pegasus is a good boat and the crew are exceptional. They knew exactly where to drop off divers and
were always there for picking up when required and Taraq, the chef, performed wonders of culinary delight in the galley.
What more can I say?
Unfortunately one of our group, Lyn Parrick, suffered a minor bend on the Friday morning. It seemed rather strange, as her
last dive was 7am on Thursday. However, she was taken directly to the Hyperbaric Centre at the Naval Base and spent some
considerable time in the chamber. Emperor Divers were extremely good, particularly Sue and Mark. Lyn had to stay in Hurghada
for another week and is now safely home.
It was a great trip, please pass on my sincere thanks to all in Hurghada for everything in particular their kindness to Lyn.
With all good wishes.
Susan Widdowson, Lulworth & Winfrith SAC, Dorset
This was my fifth trip to Egypt and the first time diving with Emperor Divers. I must compliment the way Emperor Divers and Barry Aldridge helped and assisted
us throughout the week. My son Ian, a 15 year old with about 65 dives, kept him answering a constant stream of questions throughout the week. Barry was
extremely knowledgeable and helpful and answered every one instantly, and more to the point correctly, and responsibly where appropriate! His briefings were
accurate and informative. In the water I was aware that he knew what was going on with the whole group, even though my daughter, for one, did not even think
that he could possibly have seen her trying to descend using a snorkel rather than her regulator. He was extremely well organised, and friendly, ensuring that
we got the most of our weeks diving … making our week a pleasure … a credit to both you, himself and the aliens. Please pass on our thanks and appreciation.
Kevin Craddock, Verwood, Dorset
Just want to say thank you for a superior safari with the Pegasus last week. All people had a tremendously good and fantastic trip, very enjoyable and relaxing.
I've never tried such professional crew and well organised dive trip before, and I've done quite some trips. Superior briefings, good and plenty of food, super
with Lisa doing video, super with the option for rebreather, Paul and Lisa is just fantastic and sets a nice relaxing pace and they're helpful in all aspects.
And of course superior wreck diving, lots of dolphins and even a giant manta ray :-) I'll definitely use Emperor Divers again for both our group trips as well
as for my own personal dive trips to the Red Sea.
