Diving in the Red Sea with Emperor

Red Sea Dive Resorts - Hurghada

Teresa Hubble

Hurghada Dive Centre Manager

Teresa Hubble - Hurghada Dive Centre Manager
I was born in London, UK, and learned to dive in the winter of 1995 in the English Channel; there was snow on the beach as I did my first open water dive! I qualified as a Divemaster in the warmer Red Sea waters.

I came to Egypt on holiday and, like many of my staff, fell in love with the country and applied for a job with Emperor Divers when I returned home. At the end of 2000 I started work as Administration staff; in 2003 I was made Dive Centre Manager.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping the staff to help some of our more nervous and apprehensive guests to get over there initial fears of diving. To then hear the stories of what they have seen at sea and how proud of themselves they are is truly rewarding.

Although I do not get out diving as much as I would like to, Ras Disha and Sha'ab Sabina are still two of my most enjoyable sites. The marine life and the variety in the corals still amaze me. A diving experience, which I will never forget, was a dive on the SS Thistlegorm when I went on a North Safari - it was so relaxing I could have stayed down all night.

I do pride myself on running a successful dive centre. Our team is incredibly enthusiastic and work hard to make sure that guests have a fun holiday and a safe, positive diving experience. It's always satisfying to hear that a guest has had a fantastic week and even more gratifying to see them return for their next holiday.
