Hurghada reports rare shark sightings and lots more dolphins than usual
Some rare shark sightings have been reported at one of Emperor Hurghada's school training sites at Erg Talata where a White Tip kindly put in an appearance for the students on their last qualifying open water dive.
There have also been several sightings of sharks at sites not normally associated with these sightings - Abu Hashish and Abu Ramada and also Fandira. And more dolphin sightings than usual have been reported with divers able to swim with them on some of the northern most sites.
The Emperor team and guests also completed a beach clean up on Magawish Island. Amongst the 'rubbish' collected was a silver bracelet, a gold earring and if the owner of this shoe could come forward...

Compact digital underwater photo workshops - improve your skills
Ocean Visions and Emperor Divers are continuing their successful Underwater Photography Trips this June on an Emperor Gold Fleet Liveaboard especially designed for divers with compact digital cameras.
Join photo professional, Maria Munn, for an unforgettable week that will improve your picture taking in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment.
These photo workshops are a fun, friendly and relaxed way to learn about, and improve, your underwater photographic skills with the genuine personal touch. Accessories will be onboard to try out at a small charge, as well as an onboard digital lab for downloading photographs and instant feedback, combined with evening slideshows of guest’s pictures – all set to music.
Divers will have the chance to photograph some of the Red Sea’s famous sites, learn how to develop photography skills and shoot beautiful underwater images.
The first trip in February was an outstanding success. The next trips will be sailing from Marsa Alam taking in the beautiful areas of Fury Shoals and Elphinstone in the Southern Red Sea.
The cost of the Photo Workshop is just 175 Euros per person (approx £119 depending on exchange rates). And you can also take the PADI Digital Underwater Photography Specialty course whilst on the trip at an extra cost.
For further information and to book, email safaris@emperordivers.com
And to show you just what can be achieved, here are the 'before' and 'after' photos of Benji Smith who was on the February Photo Workshop with Maria:

It was a busy old time at LIDS recently with lots of interest in the new Emperor Fleet boats.
Thanks to everyone who took the time out to visit the stand and especially those who came to simply say what a first-rate holiday they had enjoyed with Emperor. Your feedback is always much appreciated!
The winner of the Emperor Divers/Regaldive Liveaboard competition was Rob Romary from London.
Winners of the Underwater Digital Photo and Underwater Video courses were Mark Clarkson and Carole Lenehan, respectively.
Congratulations to all!
The Emperor Team look forward to seeing you at the NEC on October 14/15 - if not before!
