Excursions on water

Amazingly not everyone wants to spend their entire holiday diving! As a result of this astonishing fact, Emperor can offer the following excursions to divers, their families and friends, so that you can spend a day together by the Red Sea enjoying the crystal-clear water. This is a fun and relaxing way to spend a day or two with your non-diving friends or family, often with the chance for you to have a dive at the same time.

Most of the excursions are bookable in advance by email, or when you arrive in resort. Some trips are subject to minimum numbers. Our reservations team or dive centre staff will be happy to answer any questions and advise on the best day out for you. Yet more ways to share our Red Sea experience.

Sharm El Sheikh

Dahab Experience (full day): Journey by air-conditioned jeep to Dahab and spend the morning with the divers at the famous Blue Hole and Canyon sites. Here you can relax in a Bedouin tent, take a camel ride along the beach or just relax looking over the stunning vista from the Gulf of Aqaba to Jordon. You can snorkel at either of the sites in the company of a qualified guide (subject to minimum numbers). Later in the morning you will be driven to Dahab where you can enjoy lunch, a walk along the promenade and some of the best-value retail therapy in Egypt.

Shark's Bay (half or full day): Why not combine a family day on the beach with some snorkelling or a Try-Dive. This day out is ideal when combined with the 'unlimited unguided beach diving' for your diving friend or partner (for details click here).
Emperor Shark's Bay is a 15-minute journey north from the main centre with a free courtesy bus to take you in the morning and return you to your hotel in the late afternoon. Alternatively you can take a taxi for around £3 if you prefer to come and go as you please. There are a variety of shops, cafes and other attractions on the beach as well as showers and toilets. The area has a Bedouin feel to it with the added advantage of being close to all the amenities of central Sharm. Emperor Divers has a dedicated area on the beach and the team can provide you with snorkelling equipment and advice on where to have the best fun. The bay is noted for its wide variety of marine life.
Why not get even with your diving-mad partner? Have a Try-Dive. Your guide will show you the equipment, brief you on how to get the most fun from the experience and help you kit-up; then it's off for a 20-minute underwater adventure, you'll be amazed at how easy it is! Try dives are available for a small supplement and subject to minimum numbers.

Marsa Alam

Abu Dabab (day or half day): A great day out for both divers and non-diving family or friends. Travel by bus to Abu Dabab where the options include relaxing on the beach, swimming or snorkelling in this fabulously famous site. The resident Dugong is a possible bonus sighting during a cooling swim. There is a great beach restaurant for lunch and drinks. A perfect way to spend a day at the beach where the children are safe and the snorkelling is great for all ages.
Cost: 52 Euro
Included: transport to and from your hotel, lunch, soft drink, professional guide, snorkelling equipment
Not included: extra drinks at lunch

Dolphin House (Shaab Samadai) (full day): Here is a real chance of seeing the resident pod of Spinner dolphins. You are collected from your hotel and taken by air conditioned bus to the port of Marsa Alam where you board a boat for the 45-minute trip to Dolphin House. At the site, we transfer to zodiac boats and it's off to visit the dolphins.
After snorkelling for about 45 minutes you return to the boat for lunch and cool drinks before relaxing on board. You can then snorkel again in the area for a while before we head back to port and transfer you to your hotel.

Nuweiba

Hurghada

Sunset Dinner Cruise: Enjoy the stunning Red Sea sunset and sample the delights of dinner aboard a comfortable cruiser. All food is freshly cooked with a local flavour tailored to Western tastes. You'll be picked up from your hotel and brought to the boat where you can enjoy a range of beer, wine and soft drinks (mineral water is provided free of charge). Cruising time approximately 4 hours.

Sunset Cruise: Late afternoon and early evening cruise aboard a comfortable, spacious boat. Sip a cool drink and marvel at the view of the sunset over Hurghada and the Red Sea mountains. Your host will offer you a complimentary welcome drink; a range of beer, wine and soft drinks are available to purchase. Cruising time approximately 3 hours.

Eco Experience (full day): Learn about the Red Sea and its inhabitants on this fun, informative trip for the whole family on a spacious, comfortable boat. Our experienced, qualified guide will entertain you with a short welcome/safety briefing before explaining the three different sites where you can snorkel, swim or just visit on the boat. You will get advice on good snorkelling techniques and then snorkel three reefs with something different to see on each. Between your dips in the water you will also have interesting and fun explanations of the Red Sea eco-system, information on conservation and be able to take part in a 'fish spotting' competition. Plus the chance to have a 'try dive' in full scuba gear for a small supplement.
