If you're not travelling to the Red Sea then don't worry, you can still complete your theory online with an Emperor instructor's help. Your online access to PADI eLearning and the instructor assistance lasts for 1 year so you can take your time learning. You can then complete your in-water training anywhere in the world or come and complete it with Emperor in the Red Sea.

The PADI eLearning course will test you at all stages of your learning. Once you have passed all the theory online, you can complete the course at any PADI centre anywhere in the world. There's a great tutorial here.

Cost

The cost is US$130 which is non-refundable. The fee covers your knowledge development training, tests and gives you unlimited access (over 12 months) to an electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook). The PADI Dive Centre that you choose for the 'in-water training' will charge an additional course fee and for your PADI certification. Some centres may require you to buy additional equipment like mask and fins (Emperor provides this free of charge). You will be required to purchase a Recreational Dive Planner (Table or eRDP version) and a log book.

Course Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 10 years. An eLearner under the age of 13 requires parent or guardian permission to register online at the PADI eLearning site.
• Able to swim
