What divers say about their training experiences:

We enjoyed our PADI Open Water Course with you - from the very beginning Emperor made me feel reassured about the type of service I would receive. Once we arrived for our first day, we met our instructor, Susi, who was absolutely superb. She is a great instructor and got us into the diving frame of mind right away. Although we had some classroom time, she made sure that it was broken up with practical experiences, and kept them study time light and enjoyable.
I always thought I was confident in the water, and up to a certain point in the course I was, but then I reached an obstacle - taking my mask off under water. I don't know why it got to me, but it did, and the first time I had to do it in the pool I panicked and nearly pushed off the bottom to breath "normal" air at the surface. Susi saw me panic, and kept hold of me, and in a calm and controlled way, helped me through my panic. I was very nervous the second time having to do it, and she could tell; it's strange how she can give you a look under water that says "Go on, you can do it, and I'm here for you". I took my mask off and it went perfectly. She give me the "OK" sign, gave me a clap, and shook my hand - I felt really encouraged and rewarded. Susi knows best!
When it came to the open water dives, I'd got my confidence back following that little knock, and felt good about being in the water; even more so now that I could stay there and breath! I was positively looking forward to showing Susi the skills I'd learned, and was really proud to show her I could take my mask off with the confidence she had restored in me. By the way, the boat staff is excellent too. They don't just take you places and lug your kit on and off the boat - they help you in/out of the water, on/off with your kit, and even cook you dinner!
It was such a buzz getting out of the sea onto the boat after our last dive and filling in our logbooks - I was so happy with what I had achieved, of course with the help of Susi. There was an option of a leisure dive right after, and I decided not to do it - that was until Susi had a word with me. She was right too - I would have regretted not doing it - it was a fantastic dive; no theory, no skills to demonstrate, just enjoyment and it was amazing.
Thank you to all at ED - you made this an experience I will never forget, with top class service, and left me with a desire to learn more. I can't wait to come back and spend some more time with you all in Sharm.

Mike Irving, Carlisle

Just back from a week in The Coral Beach Diving Resort (Marsa Alam) and followed the PADI open water diver course. Thanks for the wonderful experience and a great thanks to Vanessa (our instructor) for her professionalism and patience. Looking forward to go back next year and continuing the courses. The boats were very good, as well as your personnel on board who were always helpful. The staff at the dive centre were all extremely helpful and professional. Thank you to all at Emperor for making our holiday a memorable one!

Patrick and Olga, Belgium December 2007

13 teenage boys came to do Fastrack course - 12 qualified open water and one as a scuba diver
Edinburgh Academy
The boys are stilling buzzing (despite being back at school in a very cold Edinburgh) and I've had numerous requests for another trip. Special thanks in particular to Cat and Simon who were so skilled and professional yet so easy-going and good fun - they gave us teachers a lesson in how to inspire youngsters. They were just brilliant.
The Academy has only ever gone with Emperor (and we've done about 12 trips now over the last 15 years) and you have never failed to impress.

Debbie Carr, Edinburgh Academy, Scotland

Just back from a week in Sharm doing our Open Water PADI course. Just like to say thank you to all the staff, you're a great bunch of friendly, helpful and encouraging people. An especial thank you to Denis (our instructor) without you and Jon (trainee instructor) I know I wouldn't have done half the things I did. Having only learnt to swim 20 yrs ago - only in a pool. 5yrs ago in the sea & snorkel on the water. Terrified of water going up my nose, terrified of being under the sea and terrified of jumping in off a boat - basically just terrified. With every day a mental challenge to over come, 4 days later I did it, and qualified. Thank you so much. If someone as nervous/terrified of the water as I was can do it, it shows how good these instructors are. I am recommending them to everyone we know and looking forward to coming back again. The variety and colours of fish, with the clearness of the sea was beautiful. Next time I can relax and be marvelled - or maybe go for more training to 30mtrs! You never know.

Having visited Nuweiba back in April/May 2007 and after completing my Enriched Air (Nitrox) course, I asked Chris and Noeleen if they thought I would make a suitable Divemaster candidate. After a lengthy discussion it became apparent that I was, so I said to them that I would book the EFR, Rescue and the Divemaster course as soon as I got back to the UK as it's cheaper doing it online. I also got the EFR & Rescue courses at a reduced rate because Andy & Steffi were celebrating six years at Nuweiba, lucky me. Courses, flight and accommodation all booked for July/August 2007.

After completing the EFR & Rescue courses I went on to start the Divemaster course. It took me three weeks to complete and pass. For the life of me I do not know how I would have passed if it were not for the patience, persistence and professionalism of Chris Le Plongeon who was my main instructor for the course.

Week 1 I was in what Chris called "I can't do" mode.

I struggled badly explaining anything to a group of people (even if it was just the instructors and no customers), I was very nervous and hated at what I called "being in the spotlight". I was at a point of giving up when Noeleen Graham sat a talked to me about everything and nothing, she did not talk to me about my fear at all. She then asked if I would go through with her what I was having a problem with. I refused and still stated that "I can't do it", after a while and more chat, she asked me again and this time I said "OK". I did the demonstration with Noeleen present but she was not watching me, I think that helped. I did the demonstration OK a bit ragged but OK and felt a lot better. Later in that day Chris told me he was around the corner and was listening and he commented that I did alright. After many more sessions and with more people present, I felt quite comfortable doing them. I felt extremely nervous giving my first dive briefing but when Chris asked the customers what they thought about my briefing they all stated that I had given all the info needed and when asked if I seemed nervous they replied "No". This lifted me no end.

Week 2 Chris said I was now in a "I can do it" mode.

Things just went from strength to strength. There was a guy who was doing his OW course and had an extreme problem clearing his mask after it was removed, Chris got me to spend time with him helping him overcome this problem after about 20-30 minutes he had it all sorted and I felt a real glow after he completed the task to Chris. I now know the pleasures of teaching someone and watching them grow in confidence and achieve what they thought was impossible.

Week 3 I was in "I am going to do this" mode.

I was worrying about the equipment exchange at the end of the course, it sounded rather intense. I was paired up with Noeleen to do the equipment exchange and I thought they was having a laugh, as those who know Noeleen, she is, how can I put this, vertically challenged compared to my 6ft 4in 15stone frame. Anyway the day came to do my equipment exchange and all went far better than I thought and I passed. I did look funny with Noeleen' very small fins on my size 13 boots, a very small BCD that was extremely tight across my chest and waist. Noeleen could not keep my fins on her boots and I am sure she could have swum around inside my BCD.

What I am trying to say is a huge big thanks to Chris, Noeleen, Paul, Andy and Steffi for helping me through this very intense and at times, for me, daunting course. If it was not for the above mentioned peoples total and utter commitment, sheer professionalism and determination I would not be a Divemaster and would not be writing this. So praise to all at Emperor at Nuweiba, I will be coming back to haunt you some more.

André M. Ray, PADI Divemaster #645514 August 2007

My husband and I have just returned from our first diving holiday with Emperor in Sharm El Sheikh where we complete our Advanced course with the help and guidance from James who has the patience of a saint and with my compass skills - boy did he need it! Thanks to him, he made the course enjoyable and we never felt uneasy or unsafe at anytime!

I would also like to say a special 'thank you' to Sameh - he is a first class instructor and what an ambassador he is for Emperor! Thanks to him, I was able to overcome my fear of night diving and once I relaxed, I thoroughly enjoyed the night dive - it actually turned out to be one of my favourite dives of the holiday.

It was also encouraging to see that you also develop local talent - by this I mean Allah. On several days we were lucky enough to be on the boat with both Sameh and Allah. Allah showed a great deal of knowledge and patience and actually made a great deal of difference to the young girl he had in his care and by the end of her holiday, her buoyancy had improved in leaps and bounds. We have no doubt that he will go on to be a fantastic instructor!

The whole experience was utterly professional and great fun and staff at the dive centre were all extremely helpful and professional. We cannot wait until next diving holiday with Emperor! Thank you to all at Emperor for making our holiday a memorable one!

Kim and Graham Stansfield , Stone, England July 2007

Thank you for a brilliant 3 days diving off Marsa Alam. My husband and I took our Advanced diving course and the only down side was the windy weather. Our instructor Janice was first class and made us feel very confident and the diving enjoyable. It was hard sometimes to remember we were actually on a course. My husband, who only took up diving after me because he was getting left behind, thoroughly enjoyed the experience and even went on an extra. I would also like to thank the crew for helping us when it was required and for the brilliant food that was served every lunchtime. In fact all staff that we came across were very helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to use Emperor divers again or recommend them to our friends. Thank you so much again for making our holiday such a memorable one.

Helen and Steve Birdsall, Denmead, Hampshire July 2007

I recently completed the Open Water course with Emperor Divers in Hurghada. I would just like to say a massive thank you to Karen my instructor. She was fantastic and so patient with me. I was very nervous and afraid, but with Karen by my side I knew I could do it. My boyfriend and I have now decided to go back to Hurghada and I will be doing my advanced course! Thank you so much, you have fantastic staff.

Amy Mcleod, England July 2007

We have recently returned from a fabulous holiday to Sharm and had to give our thanks to Emperor Divers. Sameh taught me as an open water diver (having transferred from scuba course was very worried how I would take to it!) and was a great teacher, especially patient as it took a while to get the hang of it! I'm definitely converted to being a diver now, as Chris was able to dive with us on our last day. We would like to thank Davorin as his guide too for his sense of fun and humour. We will definitely be back and the bonus of being your anniversary with games quizes and prizes was the icing on the cake. Thanks for everything.

Alison & Chris Foers, Oakham, England July 2007

Simon Richards is one reason we are coming to Hurghada again - fantastic instructor and good friend socially, Kat is another she is a great guide. And, of course, because of how we were looked after by Emperor as a company from Teresa and the girls in the office to local guys on the boats. All round excellent staff.
Kevin Burden, Derby, England March 2007

Many thanks Emperor Divers for being so professional, efficient and friendly. I really enjoyed the PADI Open Water course and the extra day diving (Ann liked the sunbathing). A special thanks to Terry the instructor for his patience, love of diving and his sense of humour.
Dave Kenway, Caterham, England March 2007

Just returned from Sharm and wanted to let you know how impressed and extremely pleased we were with the instruction we received from Steve Kehoe on our Open Water course. He made the whole experience more than just a learning experience; it was fun and has certainly whetted our appetites to do more diving. If we do, and we're sure we will, we will return to Sharm to do the advanced course and we will ask for Steve to be our instructor. Thanks also to Dennis and Keith who also helped make our week a better time than we anticipated.
Ray & Chris Eccleston, Wolverhampton, England January 2007

Thank you for the brilliant service from your staff at the Coral Beach Hotel in Port Ghalib, Marsa Alam. In particular I would like to pass on my thanks to Roberta my instructor on my AOW course for her patience, professionalism and help throughout the course.
Also a mention for Aladino the guide on my other dives, who was an excellent guide underwater and extremely patient under very trying conditions with another 'experienced' diver who needed constant attention. He deserved a medal!
The boat crews were friendly and helpful, the boats clean and the lunches were freshly cooked on board to a high standard. The combination of the Coral Beach Diving Hotel at Marsa Alam & Emperor Divers was all I could have asked for to make this week a very memorable one.
Paul Wright, Norfolk, England November 2006

Our trip to Sharm went extremely well. Emperor Divers looked after us brilliantly. They really are first class. Special thanks to two tutors/guides, Davorin and Osama. Between them, they got the children through their certification and then took us diving out at Ras Mohamed. Fantastic! Many thanks for all your help in this.
Andrew Davison, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England November 2006

Thanks to everyone who made our diving experience so much fun. As a diver it was important for me to find a good dive school who would help James through his first diving experience and help him pass his Open Water course. He could not have wished for a better guy than Steve K. What a great guy! James relaxed immediately and really enjoyed himself. From the point of booking our dive package over the Internet, to being picked up from our hotel on day one, to paying our bill - everything was really professional and well organised.
Having dived with a couple of other dive centres in Sharm on previous occasions, I would recommend Emperor to everyone and we will definitely be back. A really friendly diving school with enthusiastic and friendly divers and a great fun atmosphere - just what diving should be all about!
Joanne Turner & James King , England October 2006

Having visited Nuweiba 9 or 10 times now I decided back in April to do my dive master course with you (after a little persuasion from Steffi). You will be glad to know that I passed BUT it would not maybe have been the case if it were not for 2 people, Noeleen and Chris. These instructors gave me lots of encouragement, lots of help and most of all made it fun and enjoyable (of course it was also hard work at times). We all became very good friends over the 3 weeks that it took me to complete the course, their patience with me was second to none in explaining things that I did not understand. For example, the 4 hours doing the physics lecture when Noeleen would not give up or show any signs of stress or strain with me - she just kept going over things until I managed to take it all on board. Chris was also the same in the lectures I had with him.
I would like to complement them both as 1st class instructors and also more importantly very, very nice people who look after all needs and make the whole thing fun.
THANKS GUYS FOR ALL HELP I COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU
Steve Mullooly, Hertfordshire, England September 2006
Ps. I also completed my Nitrox course in the 4th week

Re Marsa Alam: Seonaidh was being asked by everyone we saw in the airport on the way home how her course had gone. All the shark hunting, liveaboard divers wanted to know if she had completed her course and she was of course able to say that she had. I think she was a bit surprised at the level of interest, but that's typical of divers in my experience. She was honest about how she had some confidence issues, but delighted to tell them that not only had she completed the course but had managed 3 dives on her last day.
Rob's patience with Seonaidh was appreciated by me, I like seeing people progress at their own speed and have real confidence in what they are doing. I felt quite at ease leaving her behind as I went off to my own diving.
I enjoyed all of my dives, it's the first time I've dived abroad without some of my own dive buddies and found it a very easy experience since the boats were never crowded and the dives were all well organised. I'll have no hesitation doing it all again.
The convenience of the hotel, dive centre, boats and short trips to the dive sites was even better than I expected and just what I needed to relax after a busy period of work.
Ann-Marie Jamieson and Seonaidh, Edinburgh, Scotland October 2006

I just wanted to send a big thank you to Emperor Divers in Sharm. We had a week here and your diving school was excellent, and you made everything so easy for us. A special thank you to Tammi and Sarah who are great instructors. If we come to Sharm again we will be sure to dive with you and we will recommend you to anyone we know going to Egypt.
Ruth & Clay "Much Improved Divers" Lowe, Warwickshire, England September 2006

I did my Divemaster with Emperor earlier this year before leaving for Thailand to train as an instructor. Having now qualified as an OWSI, I wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on how exceptional my experience with Emperor really was. Certainly the training over here in Thailand has been very good and everyone passed their IE with high marks. However, Emperor has a certain flair, a kind of energy that I found not just in the busy Sharm centre but also in the quieter resorts of Nuweiba and Dahab, which other places seem to lack. The dedication and enthusiasm of the staff is also unparalleled. Nowhere else have I met so many instructors, so deeply passionate about diving that they go diving on their days off. Combined with exemplary safety procedures, environmental consciousness and instructor capability, this love of diving made Emperor the ideal company to train with. I'd also like to cite the foundation laid by Daniele during my Divemaster training as one of the key reasons for my present success.
Tim Lees, Bedfordshire, England August 2006

Thank you to Emperor Divers, Sharm, for a fabulous week's instruction and diving. In particular I would like to thank Donna & Gary for taking me through my Basic and Advanced PADI Open Water Course. Both were great experiences and I can't wait to go out again. Finally I'd like to thank the 'Man From Atlantis', Graham, who took some fantastic shots for me, so thanks for that!
Glen Lowerson, England July 2006

I wanted to write and say how wonderful we found diving with Emperor. We stayed at the Coral Hilton Resort in Nuweiba. Before going I arranged for my 13-year-old son and myself to do the Scuba Diver Course. I, unfortunately, gave up but my son completed this and went on to complete his Open Water Course. He has low self-esteem as he is slightly autistic and finds it hard to do things on his own. He was only able to complete the course with the full encouragement and help from Bex at the diving school. I would just like to send a big thank you to her for all her help and patience. My younger son did the Bubble Maker Course whilst we were there with Jammie. He really enjoyed that and so would also like to say a big thank you to him as well.
Gill & Dave Thomas, Hampshire, England May 2006

Thanks for the wonderful time we had on the course and the patience extolled to my wife. For some one who was terrified of opening her eyes under water, the fact that she passed is a great credit to the two instructors Penny and Lorraine. My thanks go out to both of them for giving us a wonderful time - I cannot express my gratitude enough. A special message for Penny and Lorraine: Not all security staff are thick they just don't understand instructions and have difficulty breathing out of a snorkel!
I shall not hesitate in recommending you for the future and we may be back to further our diving career.

I recently attended your one day learn to dive lesson in Sharm El Sheikh, organised through Thomson. I would like to say a huge thank you to the Sharm diving school, especially to Dave Goring whose patience and humour helped me to complete my learn to dive lesson! My two friends and I had an amazing time and hope to visit your diving school again.
Kerry Cooke, Worcester, England April 2006

Steffi and Andy, Nuweiba: thank you once again for a great time it's always a pleasure to dive with you. I have started to make enquiries for the dive master materials, which I need and I should have them in the next week or so (then all my troubles start). I will be in touch on a regular basis to keep you informed of my progress.
Steve Mullooly (dive master in the making), Herts, England April 2006

Thank you to the hugely impressive team at Sharm! Our trip came from out of the blue with no real previous aspirations to dive in the past. We were both nervous about our undertaking. But on the Monday morning we received a warm welcome by Matt Kitchiner who can only be described as fantastic. He relieved all our fears, well all that were voiced above water! We were guided methodically through the whole training package and enjoyed it all so much. If you are thinking about training, then this is the place and the school to go to. We were spoilt on our first open water dive at Noria Beach with fantastic wildlife and corals. It just got better and better with each dive! We have now returned to a dull UK with plans to return in September to complete a further 5 courses with the team! Thank you so much guys, it was an absolute pleasure, you were all so kind and helpful!

A HUGE thanks to our instructor and team at Emperor in Sharm for a fantastic set of dives and for helping us through our AOW course. Working for a radio station in the UK, we have a website and over a quarter of a million hits per month, so I'm sure you'll be delighted to notice a few pictures on our site. Have a look:

Thank you to Mustafa for all the effort you put into our preparation for the IE. The IDC was an excellent course and I really appreciated how prepared I felt when I saw the lack of organisation of some of the students from other IDCs. It really helped me relax and enjoy the IE!
This week I started assisting Collin on an Open Water course, shadowing him in the classroom to get a feel for organising the classroom portion of the course and assisting in the confined water too. I think Collin will then let me teach my first OW course at the beginning of June which I shall look forward to!
Hopefully I will get some good experience with Collin & Andy before I go to live in New Zealand in October, which hopefully will help me get a job there! I hope to have achieved my MSDT by then or if not be very close to completing it!
Please stay in touch, and thanks again for all your hard work on my IDC/IE.
David Lewis, England April 2006

I thoroughly enjoyed completing my Padi Advanced Open Water Course with Emperor Divers in Sharm El Sheikh. The facilities and staff were second to none and my instructor, 'Big Mo', was up there with the best! Emperor Divers was recommended to me before my holiday and I have already recommended Emperor to other people who may be venturing to Sharm later this year!
I will undoubtedly be back at some point to tackle either Dunraven or the Thistlegorm and hopefully many more dive sites.
Gordon Peebles, Forfar, Scotland April 2006

Could we as a family express our thanks for a great holiday in Sharm. It was our first experience diving and we went on to compete our advanced open water course. My wife and daughter both had a great time although I think my 14-year-old daughter tested Sameh (our instructor) to the full. Sameh and all the staff treated us all brilliantly from start to finish and the diving was as advertised. We will return hopefully in the not too distant future. We enjoyed the company of everyone on the course and the beer back at base at the end of the day when filling in our logs.
Idwal, Mary and Megan David, West Wales January 2006

A really good time! I went out to take my Open Water Diver course and had a lovely instructor (Brian Williamson) who did a great job throughout! I will be back later this year. Please try to express my thanks to Brian, as I never got the opportunity to say goodbye. I hope to see him again when I bring my husband out in September to take his Open Water too!

My fiancée and I have just returned from Sharm and wanted to say a big thank you to Emperor Divers, especially Osama and Donna who got us through our Open Water course, they were excellent. Also thanks to Laura who was always quick to email me while we were enquiring and making our reservation, it made booking so much easier.
We really enjoyed the diving and will hopefully be back next year to do our Advanced Open Water.

I would just like to say that my wife and I had a fantastic time learning to dive and think your set-up is first class. I would also like to mention that our instructor Cam was excellent. He really made the trip. One additional point I would like to make - while we were very impressed with Emperor Diver's set up in general, our instructor, Thomas Cameron, was brilliant and is the main reason I wrote my thank you letter to Laura; you have a real asset in him. We are hooked and will be back!
Jim Huggettt, London, England December 2005

Just got back from Sharm…did my OW with you. LOVED IT..... many thanks to all the Emperor team. See you in May 2006
Dean & Daniel Roizer, England November 2005

What a brilliant time I had last week doing my open and advanced courses. I thought the instructors both Irena and Javier were excellent, nothing seemed too much trouble.
The boat crews were excellent, helpful and courteous at all times, and the dive sites were breathtaking. Please pass on my thanks to the instructors, tell Javier I am sorry I was a bit rushed at the end of the course and didn't get to really thank him properly. Oh! and the toe is broken but will heal fine, thanks for your help. Once again, thanks to the team for their professionalism and commitment to going that extra yard to make sure the whole experience is very enjoyable and safe.

I have just returned from a lovely week at Hurghada completing my PADI Open Water course and just wanted to express my huge thanks and gratitude to you all at Emperor but especially the course Divemaster Penny who's constant enthusiasm commitment and professionalism was a huge credit to both her profession and to Emperor. I will surely be returning very soon to complete my Advanced course and once again would like to thank you all for making me feel so welcome, happy and safe.
Mike Briggs, Worcester, England October 2005

We have just returned from the most fantastic holiday of our lives. We took the Fastrack open watercourse and from start to finish everything was perfect. We would like to thank Dan Zanoni (our instructor) in Sharm he was absolutely brilliant and extremely patient especially with me (Jackie) and has inspired us to continue our diving - we hope to return very soon to do our Advanced Open water. All of the staff at Emperor were extremely helpful and most professional and big Mo, Ian & Brian as well of course the brilliant Dan to mention a few were exceptional. If possible could you forward this to the team in Sharm.
Jackie Hyden, Newport, South Wales September 2005

I have just returned to the UK after a weeks diving with you; the first time I have ever dived. I have just watched the video and it is hard to believe that I achieved so much. This sounds like a sales pitch but it is not by any means. The organisation was smooth, well planned and friendly. I wish to particularly pass on my thanks to Tammy Stoneham for all her work in getting us trained. She was brilliant. I will certainly be returning as soon as I have saved enough money.
David J S Grindel, Chichester, England August 2005

I would like to say a BIG thank you for your assistance and patience it helping me to achieve my PADI Open Water qualification. A special thank you to Mohammed for putting me through my paces and the reassurances when I decided that perhaps diving may not be for me. However - a very big thank you to you Lisa for persuading me to try again, arranging for Luc to give up his day off and for my Margo moment when you kindly made the school boat available to me on Tuesday morning. Of course my biggest thank you must go to Luc who through his calm and reassuring manner and professionalism gave me the encouragement which built my confidence to do the four open water dives and complete the course.
Of course everyone at Hurghada are such a great bunch of people it is hard to mention you all individually. One of the nicest moments was to dive with Maurice on our final diving day at the aquarium and see all those fish and such wonderful colours. Now I know why I want to dive.
I am now the proud owner of some new kit, which I cannot wait to get wet so the bad news for you is that weare trying to get back to Hurghada in October.
Terry and Maurice Adams, West Sussex, England July 2005

Thank you for an excellent diving holiday. I was so pleased to have completed my open water referral and then gone on to do the advanced open water with you. Although I was travelling on my own, I had a great time. All your staff were so friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the night dive and my last day when we did two 75 minute dives.
Yvonne Husbands, Milton Keynes, England July 2005

We wanted to express our thanks for a wonderful time learning to dive with you all.
My wife and I completed our Open Water in July and it was one of the best experiences and achievements we have done. We are hooked and are already planning our next diving trip (maybe back to Sharm one day) and also thinking about a course in underwater photography.
Please pass on our thanks and best wishes to Anne Desnos who was an outstanding teacher. She was very patient and knowledgeable, and gave encouragement at all times. Even when we were faced with removing and replacing the mask underwater! (no one likes that). She always had a smile and seemed to enjoy her job. May we also say how professional you all are at Emperor. We have many happy memories of the time learning to dive in Sharm.

Many thanks to your dive centre at Sharm, who were thoroughly professional and friendly making my (and my friends') week holiday hugely enjoyable, although very tiring! Special thanks must also go to Ingrid Wittmann and Roy Stevenson who guided our group through the open water and advanced courses during our stay. I look forward to diving again with Emperor and would not hesitate to recommend them to others who wish to learn or participate in diving in the Red Sea.

We really appreciated completing our Open Water referral course and then going on to do 5 Adventure Dives to qualify for the Advanced award with you last week.
When we met up with other divers who had come out on the flight with us, but had done their diving with another scuba company, we came across examples of insensitive training. This suspended any progress in their Open Water Diver course, let alone any development to Adventure Dives, which made us very grateful to have had such a supportive and expert instructor as Sameh. We would like to record our thanks to him for that as well as for the excellent support that Emperor Divers gave us generally. We hope to be able to enjoy pursuing our diving development with you again in the future.

On the 10th February 2005 I visited Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. I attended the Instructor Development Course offered at Emperor Scuba Schools. I chose this venue because I had heard several good reports and excellent comments with respect to Emperor from friends and colleagues.
The Course Director who was taking the IDC was called Ingrid Wittmann. At the start of the course Ingrid made us feel extremely welcome and put us all at ease (we were fairly nervous as you can imagine). All I can say is that the level of accuracy and commitment produced by Ingrid was outstanding. She really showed a tremendous effort in the level of support to all students and brought the best qualities out in us all. The atmosphere was one of a high level of learning combined with a relaxed approach to the subject. The contrast was perfect, and all who participated on the IDC were taken back and felt very privileged to be there.
I cannot thank Ingrid enough, and because we all had such a thorough and well-structured level of training on the IDC, we all found the Instructor Examination days fairly easy and were most definitely well prepared.
I couldn't have asked for a better IDC, and Ingrid, with her passion and dedication to the subject, opened my eyes to a greater and more enjoyable side to the diving industry. I learnt so much in such a short amount of time, and the course was the most rewarding of all the PADI educational courses I have completed to date.
Thank you so much Ingrid for all the support, dedication and expertise shown between February 10th - February 24th 2005.

On our holiday, Dave and I passed our Open Water dive. We would like to thank Dougal (kiwi) Wilson for getting us there! Friends from work are coming to Sharm in August and we have recommended Emperor for the diving, as this is the best!
Thanks once again and hope to see you all again sometime soon.

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for a totally exceptional experience with Emperor Sharm. We would like you to pass on our thanks to Veronique for her professionalism in taking us through our Open Water Course. She was patient, understanding, very professional and we felt very safe in her hands, in addition to this she was great fun! We would also like to thank Osama, who was also extremely professional, looked after us and again was great fun! We sincerely look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

Thank you all for a great weeks diving once again! I would like to congratulate Emperor for the excellent standard of training we received from Irena whilst doing the Nitrox course. She was always very professional, friendly and knowledgeable whilst managing to remember we were on vacation. A really good instructor and definitely the best I have had the pleasure of meeting since taking up diving three years ago. I was also very impressed with her enthusiasm and kindness when dealing with us and Frank (disabled diver). Nothing was too much trouble and your company will continue to win awards if you employ such "ambassadors".
Please pass on our thanks to all concerned (Mohamed was a "sweetheart" said Claire)

I don't usually bother writing such letters but I feel on this occasion I wanted to write to inform of the excellent professional service your staff provided on my recent holiday (2/1 - 9/1 2005) in Sharm El Sheikh (Naama Bay).
I went out there to finish off a PADI Open Water and came back an Advanced Diver! This was my first diving experience in the sea and your staff could not have been more professional, reassuring and a delight to spend time with. The whole set up in Sharm is highly efficient and friendly. But in particular I would like to single out:
· Graham Pearce and the trainee working with him - Jimmy (who I sincerely hope passes the technical aspects of teaching and Divemaster because his people skills were A1). They were superb: fun and professional in the way they steered me through my PADI OW
· Sarah Woodford), who had returned to the company that week, for her highly experienced and eye for detail re individual tuition during the Advanced Course.

Just got back to unsunny, cold, murky-watered UK and wanted you to pass on my thanks to the rest of the team at Emperor Sharm. It was THE best break I'd had for a long time. I was a little nervous at first, having only just completed my open water in August so didn't really know what to expect. From my first shore dive with Gary it was obvious it was going to be easy-going and enjoyable - he made it all very relaxing, also Brian helped me out a great deal on the Nitrox course.
Also thanks to Dennis, who got me through the advanced, he clearly enjoys his diving and teaching - it made the holiday so enjoyable for me and I am sitting here looking at calendars and planning my next dive with Emperor!

Thanks to Chris Berry for taking me through my open water referral in Sharm. His help and instruction was first class and put me at ease from the very start. He is an asset to have as an instructor, making my whole experience of starting diving something to treasure with first class tuition. A very capable Dive Master and a 1st class service from a company that values its customers experiences. Also thanks to Dieter who was also great - putting me at ease for my first dive off a boat. Everyone at Emperor was clued up to the customer needs. Once again, thanks and hope to be back out soon.

I have just returned to the UK after one week staying at the Rosetta hotel. The purpose of the trip was for my 13-year-old nephew to complete his OW course. His instructor was Barbara Ruben, assisted by Christiane. I have to say that I was very impressed by the professionalism, thoroughness and attention to detail given by Barbara, not to mention patience. I was present for part of the course and was able to witness Barbara's polished and professional technique at first hand. Christiane too was very good and I am sure she will be an excellent instructor. I have no doubt that John, my nephew, has had the best possible training available and this is confirmed by his competence in the water. I should like to thank Emperor Divers for the service they provided, but in particular, many thanks to Barbara and Christiane.
I have been diving for 28 years (in the latter years, Trimix) and I have seen a lot of instructors and guides over the years in many places, so I am well placed to make these comments.

Thank you very much for professionalism on our introduction to the delights of SCUBA diving.
Alex was extremely professional on our open water PADI course, especially considering we were his first divers in Egypt. We loved our dives on the Saturday as proper! divers. We are already trying to plan our next trip as we had such a fantastic experience. We will definitely recommend Nuweiba Emperor Divers in the future.

I'd like to pass on my whole-hearted thanks for four days of diving with Emperor.
It really all started with a try dive in the pool with the wonderful Kelly, whose encouragement and energy guided my brother and me onto the PADI Open Water course. With Graham, diving has been fun throughout, even the videos. I'd never have imagined seeing so much beauty and having so much fun in such a short space of time. Thank you once again, and it's safe to say I'm hooked on diving!
Phillip Topham & Richard Topham, London April 2004

I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the dives. My Instructor for the Deep Dive Specialty, Aurelie, was professional, helpful, friendly and an absolute star. I learned more in the two days on how to dive than I have in a long time. Next year I hope to dive the Thistlegorm!

Collin quits the rat-race
On the 27th of July this year (2003), I successfully completed my IDC and IE with Emperor Scuba Schools in Hurghada. My course director was Mr. Mustafa Al Sayyad and I would like to take this opportunity to let PADI and Emperor Divers/RSSS know what a wonderful ambassador they have for their organisation.

Mustafa conducted the course in a truly professional manner throughout, and demanded high standards of all the students on the course. He has first class communication skills and his presentation techniques are some of the best I have ever seen. Without exception all of the students enjoyed the experience, and I am sure that my future success will be because of the magnificent training that I had at the beginning of my career.

Since the course I have secured a partnership in a PADI Dive Centre in the UK (Bath Dive Centre) and am busily training students every week.

Could I also take this opportunity to commend Emperor Scuba Schools, who live up to their reputation as a first class training facility.

Just wanted to pass on our thanks to all for a very enjoyable week's diving in Hurghada last week with Emperor Divers. Special thanks to Stella for managing to keep us motivated whilst maintaining a sense of humour and also to Fefe for the very comprehensive training she gave to my daughter, Gilly, doing her AOW course with Emperor Scuba Schools. The whole week was brilliantly organised, as usual, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
We'll be back.
Mike Hutchinson, Alton, Hampshire, UK (mikejhutchinson at hotmail.com)

I have just received my PADI AOW card and I want to thank you (Margaret) for your assistance and excellent tips in the use of the compass. Diving with Emperor Divers and yourself was a pleasant experience and I hope to repeat it in late December.
Bob, Wath upon Dearne, Yorkshire, UK (robert at tinyworld.co.uk)

I am grateful to choose Emperor Scuba Schools as a location of my IDC-IE. I feel I got an excellent service and I had a wonderful Course Director (Bruce Farkas) and staff instructors (Nadja, Barbara and Laura) who played an important role in my success. I gained so much in every respect. Thanks a lot and I wish you a fruitful future!

Could you please pass on my thanks to Mickael Heuze, Niall, Guy & Brionny for their efforts in getting me through the PADI open water course. Especially as they managed to make it so enjoyable, well after the 1st three days anyway. I will not hesitate to recommend your services to anyone who asks. Please pass this onto all the above and hopefully it won't be too long before I get out to Egypt again.
Steve Weller, Rochester, Kent

My dive holiday in Nuweiba was great and once more Joe Dallison was my instructor. He gave me an excellent series of courses and I am delighted to say that I completed my deep diver, night dive and peak performance buoyancy specialties. The atmosphere at Hilton Coral Beach is friendly and the professional support is superb. Andy and Steffi, the Emperor Divers Managers, are to be congratulated - and Joe is outstanding. All the other staff are very helpful - they could give lessons in customer service to some of my clients in the service industry (particularly hotels!). Laura, thank you for the way in which you administered my dive requests. Your replies are always very fast and most helpful - "I'll be back!"

Thank you for a fantastic dive course. I have just returned from Sharm … and wanted to drop you a line to say how much we enjoyed the two courses, open water and advanced. The tuition was excellent, the boat was fab and so was the food on board. I am now looking into gaining more diving experience here in England so that I can return again to Sharm some day and possibly join you on a liveaboard and enjoy the sights I was not experienced enough for. The dive sites we did visit were amazing and you catered for all levels and abilities ensuring no matter what level/experience, the chosen sites were suitable to your level and were still beautiful. Thanks for helping me make the most out of my time in Sharm. I had a wicked time and am left with a bit of a crush on some amazing sites and an amazing sport. I would definitely recommend Emperor Divers and Emperor Scuba Schools.
Katherine Binks, Corringham, Essex

Thank you so much for arranging the trial dive with Peter Matthews last week. I am missing the Red Sea a lot at the moment as I look out onto a grey UK day outside! Please thank Peter for being such a patient instructor! I look forward to returning to do the course with you.

Dear Theresa
Emperor guest The post has just arrived, and what a surprise, a lovely hand written note from yourself and a T-shirt, what a fantastic touch, thank you very much. How you remembered that from just one throw away comment sat round the table one evening amazes me. It is that kind of attention to detail that sets you apart from the others. In fact, that's how I came to be at Emperor. Having previously dived with a different college in Sharm, I made enquiries there regarding the courses I was looking to do, to their complete disinterest. Coupled with both Eric and Margaret's (Emperor Divers) professional help and advice, this encouraged me to spend my hard-earned money with yourselves. Both my wife and I were delighted we did. Margaret was a superb ambassador for you and diving, her endless enthusiasm coupled with the right amount of strictness brought my diving on leaps and bounds. The bonus for me was that my wife passed her open water as well with Aurelie, so we can both enjoy this fantastic sport together. Plans are already afoot for a trip in September. Christine is making sounds about advanced open water. We intend bringing some diving friends with us and will have no hesitation in booking with Emperor. Once again, Theresa, thanks for the momento, a fantastic surprise, and pass on our congratulations and thanks to Eric, Margaret and the rest of the gang.

I have recently returned from Hurghada after finishing my OWD course with Emperor Scuba Schools and wanted to compliment you and your staff on making it the most amazing holiday ever! We stayed in the Hilton Resort and are planning to return very soon. Our instructors, Alla and Fefe, were exceptional and made the whole experience what it was. Thanks again.
Ben Shanley and John Harrison, Worcester

I recently attended your dive school (Emperor Scuba Schools) completing a PADI OW course and would like to congratulate you on the standard of instruction I received. However, during the course I met someone who went on to complete the AOW and both of us felt that the high standard and conscientious, friendly approach set by our instructor, Samantha Kirby, was something that was to be found amongst all your staff members. I enjoyed myself thoroughly during the week and would certainly recommend your company for its professionalism and attitude shown by Samantha Kirby. Thank you for the introduction to a wonderful sport and I look forward to coming back soon.
Simon Arnsby, London

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to express my sincere thanks to you all there for being so accommodating and patient with me when I was getting a bit scared of this scuba diving lark. Extra special thanks to Ali and Lisa, without whom I would never have got to see the amazing underwater world of fish and coral and who coaxed me through my Scuba Diver certification (of which I'm dead chuffed). Many thanks once again and happy diving.
Michelle Gibsone, Norfolk

We would like to thank Emperor Divers/Emperor Scuba Schools once more for the efforts you all made to make us feel secure during this new and exciting experiment. At any moment we felt safe under water under your supervision and we will long remember these four fantastic days. While Kim has definite plans to continue the education, from my side I will certainly grab the occasion to benefit from Open Water Diving when this shows up. Too bad that we didn't have a little bit more time the last day to enjoy somewhat more "underwater tourism". So Guys, thanks again and please also transmit our appreciation to the "ground staff" for the perfect organisation of this course. Hoping to run into you guys once again and buono fortuna!
Willy and Kim Gielens, Sterrebeek, Belgium

I would like to make the following comments about our Nuweiba diving experience and Emperor Divers/Emperor Scuba Schools dive operation. Quite simply it was GREAT. We were made to feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble and we were treated as individuals based upon our experience and skills. Because of the confidence, attention and additional skills Steffie imparted to Elaine throughout the week, Elaine even did her dreaded night dive! Nothing was too much trouble and Elaine has even agreed to return to Nuweiba to do the PADI Advanced course! Before leaving for Egypt, she would not even talk about it and would almost run and hide at the mention of 'compass' and 'navigation', despite the fact that she is a good little diver. As for me, even as a more experienced diver I learned so much from both Steffi and Andy and thoroughly enjoyed every dive I had. Having now dived at a number of locations world-wide with a number of different dive operators, including Sharm, Hurghada, Bali and Tobago, we feel qualified to say that Steffi and Andy are as good as they come and probably the best there is. So, well done Emperor Divers and now we know why everybody keeps voting for you. At Emperor Divers the clients get the attention they deserve. The moral of this e-mail is' Dive with Emperor, Learn and be Happy! David and Elaine Marshall, Chichester, West Sussex

I have actually passed my IE! I'd like to thank you all at Emperor Scuba Schools (management and instructors) for all the help you have given me. After doing my IDC/IE I now realise the excellent standard of training that I received and really appreciate all the help you guys gave me throughout my DM and AI. Hopefully I'll see you all at the end of the year. I did have rather a few handicaps which I'm sure you'll all find rather amusing when Laura tells you all about them!
