Having been caught in an electrical storm for two earth days without communications we have managed to break free and can now contact the Federation. High winds have prevented further exploration of the Outback of the Tiran System, but it is hoped that the introduction of new small shuttles called RIBs will ease this problem in the future.
Our two ships in that sector made shelter in the coastal quadrant having heard of the current nomadic behaviour of the Whale Shark species. Two were found at Ras Nazrani and Ras Gamila, so it can be confirmed that they are still in the sector although we expect them to head out of the region very soon in search of food.
The Federation, keen to foster relations with many unknown or new cultures, has received requests from several delegations that they would like to cross the Neutral Zone and enter Federation space for peaceful exploration of the area, this has been agreed. We have received requests from the following delegations to join us: Bishop's Stortford School (Principal John Kirton), Orca Divers from Chorlton, Manchester (Ambassadors Caroline and Nick Robertson-Brown) and a privately organised expedition by Group Taylor. Several of our ships and officers have been dispatched to escort them to the Local Zone before further journeys into other sectors of the quadrant.
Further to this, several young cadets are due to finish at the Academy soon before graduating to the 'Blue Shirt' uniform and joining us at Sharmtrek. We will keep you notified of their progress.
