Captains Blog 30708. We entered that world of The Blue Planet today. The Fleet had reports of a number of Whale Sharks entering the Local Zone close to Near Garden very early this morning. We therefore communicated this to all our ships and therefore 5 of the Fleet made for the given coordinates at Warp Speed to intercept the creatures.
We were amazed to find 4 of the species all at the same spot circling what can only be described as a 'fish ball' containing thousands of what we believe are called Sardines. All ships deployed Away Teams at the same time on the surface. We now know that when these fish balls are sighted the Whale Sharks will stay for long periods unaffected by the presence of ourselves.
The creatures stayed all day and many of the ships aborted their allotted missions and destinations to study the event. Most Away Teams were able to conduct three separate Away missions and get excellent footage and data of this unique event not seen in Federation Territory before.
We have termed this phenomenon as a Blue Planet Event and are sure the footage will be seen for years to come as a one off incident. I was pleased that all my officers got to witness this sighted and study the habits of these creatures in such close proximity and for so long.

Passengers Blog 06808. Just returned to planet Earth after being one of the lucky passengers aboard Emperor Divers SSTerasa on the Blue planet trip. I was one of the lucky away trip passengers which got to see this amazing event. 4, I repeat FOUR, WHALE SHARKS spotted and dived with. I will never forget this and am still grinning :-). Would like to say a big thanks to Terry Axam and Sarah D for getting us to the location and making it possible to see this...probably...although hopefully not, once in a lifetime experience. Many thanks Emperor divers.
