What's in it for me?
As a PADI Staff Instructor you are eligible to assist and evaluate candidates on PADI Instructor Development Courses under a PADI Course Director and also to independently teach the PADI Assistant Instructor course and certify candidates. What's more, this rating puts you one step away from being able to apply for the prestigious PADI Master Instructor rating.

0111 steve-prior-knowledge.jpgTaught by our PADI Platinum and well respected Course Director, Steve Prior, you will also have access to the excellent and unique 'Prior Knowledge' materials for use during AI and IDC courses. Steve has a top notch success rate in getting candidates through their exams, so you're in the best hands.

Two days diving FREE!

As you're out in the Red Sea we know you'll want to do some diving, so we've wrapped up two days into the package free of charge!

If you're an MSDT you'll never get a better opportunity to get your IDCS rating under the sun, and dive some of the best reefs in Egypt, including Elphinstone!

Emperor's Course Director Steve Prior is very proud and honoured to be singled out to receive a unique prize.

PADI Area Representative, Terry Johnson, who made the presentation said, "This special 'Contributions to Diver Education' Award recognises the high quality and excellence of Steve Prior's teaching. It's not just the quantity of good instructors that he produces but also the extra service over and beyond the requirements."

Terry Johnson stressed that the award was over and above the PADI Platinum Course Director Status that Steve earned in 2008 for the high number of successful Instructor Candidates.

Steve Prior was obviously thrilled, "It's always good when your efforts are recognised. Our aim has always been to create enthusiastic and effective instructors. I have to thank Janet, my wife, for constantly looking for ways to improve our courses. It's because of her that we can really tailor our teaching to the needs of each individual candidate."

And as the proof is in the pudding, here some past candidates have their say:

"Hoorah! for the first time in my life physics is easy!" Mel, Essex
"It was not just a PADI IDC but a life changing experience." Kevin, Jersey
"You are both amazing people; so warm and friendly and amazing teachers." Jacqui, Epsom
"Your enthusiasm for teaching people and your ability to open people's eyes to alternatives is just amazing and the proof is in the pudding." Caroline, Thames Ditton

Apart from celebrating the New Year in Sharm, celebrations were also underway for nine newly fledged instructors. This was the biggest Instructor Development Course for years and everyone passed with flying colours.
Gareth and Anders have a lot to smile about as they earn their PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor qualifications this week. Not only can they teach the core PADI courses, but having completed their Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Emergency First Response Instructor programs, they can also teach five PADI specialty courses and First Aid. Their two-day exam, conducted by PADI examiners who were flown in especially, was the culmination of a nine-day intensive but enjoyable learning experience.

Emperor Divers' April PADI IDC got off to a relaxed start on the beach at Shark's Bay in Sharm El Sheikh. Gareth booked in for a two-day prep course with PADI Course Director, Steve Prior, to ensure that his in-water skills and diving knowledge were up to scratch. Gareth advised, "You only do a PADI IDC once in your life, so you want to do it right and you want to have fun."
