Thank you so much for sponsoring/
donating prizes to our very first, Divecrew Night of the Stars Christmas Party raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
I am very pleased to let you know that your support made a fantastic night just incredible.
The Wokingham and Crowthorne RNLI in 12 months normally raise £10,000 through volunteers. The Divecrew Christmas Party raised £2,000 in just one evening. Thank you for your help in making this happen and supporting a charity that has volunteers putting their own lives at risk to save others. 22 lives per day on average saved by the RNLI. .
More unbelievable news...There was a big surprise too, Divecrew were presented with an award for the work we have done with disabled troops (from Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts), teaching them to scuba dive. Divecrew was awarded the Deptherapy Gold Star Dive Centre status, the only Dive Centre in the UK to receive this accolade.
The award was presented to Sue and Martin by Kevin Pryke a brave injured soldier from the Royal Anglian Regiment, who is currently being considered by the Secretary of State for the Military Cross for an act of bravery whilst under direct enemy fire, he broke free of cover to save his colleague's life.
The evening was such a success and the feedback from our guests has been extremely flattering.. so much so, we have already booked with the hotel for next year, Saturday 6th December 2014. The venue was superb, the food excellent and the service second to none. We will of course speak to all or sponsors and prize givers to give you the opportunity to be involved in 2014. We have already doubled our charity fund target next year and will taking a license out to sell raffle tickets to the general public and these will also provide additional exposure to our sponsors. Plans are already well in hand to make next year even more successful than our first Night of the Stars. You can be part of that success story again.
I have taken the liberty of enclosing a single snapshot photograph of the evening big screen image below. The big screen displayed a rolling video of sponsors, prizes and prize donators throughout the evening. It was also used to great effect during the award ceremony. There will also be a short video placed on our social media site once it is edited. Our sponsors and prize donators were recognised throughout the evening via the large screen as mentioned and verbal announcements. Every raffle prize was announced with the sponsor of that prize. This has created much goodwill. Thank you. I shall shortly be forwarding photographs of the award recipients and the sponsor credits, to the individual sponsors of the categories.
Thank you once again for your support. It is really appreciated and for such a fantastic charity.
Martin and Sue.
