Sharm shark attacks - information

| No TrackBacks

The Ministry of Tourism, Egypt, has stopped all diving and watersport activities on beaches and local dive sites in the Sharm el Sheikh area today (December 6), following the recent shark attacks.

CDWS chairman, Hesham Gabr, underlined the rarity of shark attacks in Egyptian waters. "'We are monitoring the situation very closely and working together with the authorities to ensure the safety of all members and visitors in the Red Sea," he said. "This is an extremely unusual incident. However, with such a frequency of attacks, measures have been taken by the Ministry of Tourism to close the sea and give teams working there time to track down and capture the shark safely."

Emperor Divers is doing all it can to give divers and snorkellers suitable alternatives.
