STOP PRESS! Sharm is now BSAC's biggest dive centre - anywhere in the world

Following the recent BSAC cross-over training (see above) Emperor Divers Sharm has become the largest BSAC Training Facility in the world with 14 permanently employed professional diving instructors available at any one time. Not only does Sharm have the instructors capable of teaching any level on the recreational diving side from Ocean Diver to Advanced Diver, but the team can also teach all Technical courses thanks to their two BSAC technically qualified instructors.

So if you can't get your courses completed in your area when you want due to work pressures or weather problems, then come to Sharm!

Eight more Emperor staff cross-train to BSAC

On a warm spring evening, eight PADI instructors from Emperor Divers in Marsa Alam, Nuweiba and Sharm el Sheikh met up for a training weekend with a difference. This was to be a BSAC training weekend and all had volunteered as a way of expanding their knowledge base in order to improve the service that Emperor can offer to BSAC divers coming to the Red Sea.

The training was conducted by Instructor Trainer Sophie Rennie, who may be small in stature but is big on BSAC training & philosophies. Every aspect of the BSAC system, from Diver levels to National HQ in Ellesmere Port, were covered, demonstrated and knowledge retention repeatedly checked.

All the Emperor team were impressed by the teaching standards. Daniele Zanoni commented, "The BSAC crossover gave us the chance to see all the skills we teach from a variety of angles. Sophie had the ability and enthusiasm that we needed to go through the different teaching methods." Chrissie Tyson added, "Sophie made the training interesting and fun, which is what diving is meant to be."

The weekend was considered a success by all who took part (especially the Saturday night). Many thanks to Sophie who has the patience of a saint and gave as good as she got when it came to inter-agency banter, reminding us all that at the end of the day we are all divers, NO matter which agency trained us.
