Dugongs in strange places

 

The dugongs in the area are still making news most weeks with many sightings at local sites and, of course, Abu Dabab. The team at Marsa Alam is getting sightings from sites where they wouldn't normally expect to see them (eg: no sea grass) and believe they may have found a new individual...watch this space! One of these out of place sightings was of this beautiful male fast asleep at 26m! This picture - taken by guest Alain Cabioch - shows it lying, eyes tightly closed, fast asleep. After several minutes he opened one eye had a look at his observing friends and headed up for a breath before returning to the same spot to carry on with his afternoon snooze. What a way to spend your days!
