Ute began her diving life in Germany's dark and cold Baltic Sea but soon discovered the pleasures of diving in warm water on several holidays to Thailand. She then spent a year dive guiding in Dahab and working for Emperor Divers in Nuweiba. Many liveaboard guests will know Ute from her time as a safari guide for Emperor in the southern Egyptian Red Sea.
Jim learnt to dive in Stoney Cove, England back in 1991 and was immediately hooked! After many courses and pleasure dives in England, he became a PADI instructor in Malta and moved on to Hurghada in 1993 to work as an instructor and dive guide. Since then he has also worked in Dahab and Nuweiba. Along with Ute, he became a safari guide for Emperor covering the southern Egyptian Red Sea in 2005.
They are both delighted to be returning to the tranquil and picturesque setting of Nuweiba - literally picture perfect as it's a fabulous location to learn and improve photo techniques - and to be realising their ambitions of managing an Emperor dive centre.
