Sharm moves up the BSAC teaching scale

By Manager, Duncan McAllister

Having trained several Ocean Divers and Sport Divers over the last few months, the instructors in Sharm were looking forward to their chance to teach the next level, namely Dive Leader. This is similar in nature to the Dive Master Course on the PADI side and can take up to three weeks to complete.

Instructor Donna was the lucky winner and signed off our first BSAC Dive Leader in the shape of Ian Baker. Although, Ian did it as a referral, and therefore only required some elements to be completed, we were obviously pleased to have trained our first Dive Leader. He was also the lucky winner of our main prize during the BASH week of a free 5-day dive package, so congratulations all round.

This was followed within a few days by the completion of our first full Dive Leader course, which ran over a three-week period in order for the student to gain all the required dives as well. Emily Siddall was taught by Terry and has promised to write an article for us about her experience. I do believe she has visions of one day joining the Emperor Team. So if you're reading this Emily, where's my promised article?
